Reception Venue

Hello! I'm newly engaged (1 month) and have already been searching for places to hold our reception. Today I had my first meeting with a possible reception venue - Martins Valley Mansion in Hunt Valley/Cockeysville. I was wondering if anyone has used them, is planning on using them, or attended a reception at this one or any of their other 6 venues. I really liked it, but I don't want to jump at the first thing I see.

I have been to a banquet there before....the food was good, and the venue is beautiful, especially their lobby.....
    Hope this helps!

I went to a wedding at Martin's West, and it was really nice - the one thing I really didn't like about them though was that they have multiple events at once, and there was a prom in the room next to us and you could hear their music throughout the ceremony, which was really distracting.   If you were just having your reception there, it probably wouldn't be as big a problem - but you may get some wedding crashers from the other events.

I have never been to a wedding there--but I have heard about one and I heard it was very nice.

I went to a wedding there last year.  It was really nice and the food was delicious.  My 'issue', and this is SO not a big deal, was that the room was all tile - there was no carpet (except by the bar).  I found that odd and made the room less intimate - in my opinion.  But like I said, that really isn't a deal breaker.  The place is very pretty.

I liked Valley Mansion because of the new walls they have...there's a sound barrier between each room. I never thought about wedding crashers...but that could be an issue.

mmulcahy - I will be emailing you! Thanks!
