I am having major invitation problems. My guest list is around 400. What is the cheapest route to go for a large number of invitations? Is it cheaper to make invitations with the cost of paper and ink or to order invitations? If I do make them, how do I go about doing this? I don't need anything fancy. Simple is fine.

Just take into account how much work it will be but sure, you can save some money doing it yourself.

How about the seal-n-send route? If you look at Ann's Bridal Bargains, you can get cute send n seal invitations for about a dollar a piece. I liked those for the postage savings because 1.) they're light, so no extra postage necessary and 2.) you can use a postcard stamp for the RSVP.

I have been looking on 123print.com they don't have very many to choose from but they are very reasonable!

Have you tried Michael's craft store?  I got mine there and they are really nice.  Brides magazine has a line of stationary there.

I got the DIY (print your own) at Target and they were 24.99 for 50 of them, so that's about $0.50 each-  great deal!  Michael's also has some DIY ones, but they are a little more.
