Local Flower Growers

Hi everyone! My fiance and I are trying to go as local as possible for many things in our wedding. We're looking for local flower growers, where we can get just the flowers, and arrange them ourselves (with the help of the army known as our families!). To be clear, we're not looking for an actual florist, just a farm/greenhouse that grows the flowers. Any ideas? Thanks!!

I'm not familiar with any local flower growers, but as a Michigander, appreciate that you want to keep it local.

Based on the bulk of the florist related threads I've seen, most people who are going to DIY their flowers find websites that import flowers, generally because they have better growing seasons and don't have to depend on hot houses.

If you only want local, I'd recommend googling "flower growers in Michigan", or looking on your local yellowpages.com for floral nurseries.

    Good luck, and welcome!

Have you thought about going to a local farmer's market and seeing who is there?  Obviously this isn't the time to do it, but if your wedding is not until September, you could go sometime over the summer, talk to the farmers about what is in season for your wedding, etc.  It looks like your wedding isn't until September, so that could work for you.

I had friends who did this in Ann Arbor.

Depending on when your wedding is, I know people that got their flowers from Eastern Market.  They have lots of flowers and plants.
