Hi ladies, I know I wasn't on the boards much, but I relied a lot on other bride's vendor reviews so I wanted to post some of my own. They are all positive reviews because I was really happy with all of my vendors and would recommend all of them! Sorry for such a long post!
Photography: Lotz Photography – Mike & Kim - A+
Mike and Kim were so great, fun and easy to work with. All of our pictures came out crisp and clear and they did an amazing job capturing the emotion of our day. I’m very glad we had 2 photographers. Kim was able to position everyone while Mike was snapping photos which moved things along. They learned the names of all of our bridal party and family which was a nice touch. They also set up a slideshow at the reception with some of the pictures taken from the day which our guests LOVED! When making the decision for our photographer, we looked at the blogs of our top choices. We went with Lotz because they did an amazing job with every couple they shot, not just the couples that they chose for their website.
DJ: Encore Entertainment – Rob McDowell – A+
Rob was awesome! He wasn’t cheesy at all like all the rest of the DJs that we met with. We had a hard time picking entrance songs, cake song, etc and Rob had plenty of suggestions. Rob was very organized and created an outline of the whole night that we passed along to our photographer, venue, videographer, etc, to make sure everyone was on the same page. Rob even got us drinks during dinner! He did an awesome job of keeping the dance floor packed all night and we had tons of compliments on the music.
Photobooth: Encore Entertainment – A+
Our guests loved the photobooth and we did a scrapbook where our guests kept one copy of the photo strip and glued the other copy in our photobook and wrote something underneath it. It was hilarious to look through. Encore also provided us with a DVD of all the photos taken that night which is a great keepsake and a great way to have photos of the guests that you didn’t get to talk to much. I can’t remember the name of the photobooth attendant, but he did a great job moving people in and out as there was a line almost all night long!
Venue: Pinnacle Golf Club – Lisa Bapst – A+
Pinnacle was absolutely gorgeous and awesome to work with. My Aunt and mom did all of our flowers and Lisa was so accommodating. She had tons of vases and votives that we could use, suggestions, etc. The food at the reception was delicious and we had several people tell us that the beef medallions were the best they’ve ever had. We were able to have cocktail hour outside which was something I really wanted. Our pictures turned out great there, the course is so green and well taken care of.
Limo: Columbus Coach – Columbus Transportation and Tours – A+
They were very easy to work with and I got quick responses to all of my questions. I thought they were pretty reasonably priced for a limo bus. Our driver was nice and the bus was in good condition.
Dress: Elegant Bride – A+
I loved working with Elegant Bride. When shopping I only found 2 dresses that I really loved even though I tried on over 50 and both of them were at Elegant Bride. They don’t have the biggest selection but they have beautiful dresses and Wafa was awesome at picking things out that would look good on my body. She is also very honest about what looks good which I loved since my family/friends just kept saying they liked everything I put on. I didn’t have many alterations done since my dress fit me really well to begin with, but I did like the alterations lady at Elegant Bride. I would highly recommend stopping in Elegant Bride when dress shopping.
Make Up: Crystal Reiger with Eye-Do Makeup - A
Crystal had done my make up when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding so I knew she was good. She is out of Dayton but is able to travel to Columbus and came to my parent’s house where we were getting ready which was very convenient. She is incredibly talented and sweet and all of my bridesmaids and my mom’s make up looked perfect. The only problem I had is that one of my fake eyelashes started to come off after the ceremony, but I don’t think that was Crystal’s fault. Luckily we had extra glue and my maid of honor was able to glue it back down, but it looks a little funny in the pictures.
Rehearsal Dinner: Spaghetti Warehouse - A
My in-laws planned the rehearsal dinner but from what I heard Spaghetti Warehouse was very easy to work with. We had the whole room to ourselves and had a menu of 5 or so meals to choose from. I thought the food was just OK, but everyone else seemed to think it was good. It worked out really well and I believe it was reasonably priced.
Videographer: Outsider Entertainment – Victor - A
We decided last minute to hire a videographer and I’m very glad we did. Victor came to my parent’s house to get some footage of the girls getting ready and stayed with us until about ½ through the reception. My biggest concern with a videographer was that he would get in the way of the photographer and would annoy the guests. Victor was very good about staying behind the photographers and kept a low profile. I kept forgetting he was there! At the reception he had a light on his camera so he could get footage after the lights were dimmed. I’ll admit that that was a little annoying and I’m sure my guests thought so too, but I think it will be worth it to have a dancing montage. We haven’t seen any of his work yet, but we’re very excited to get the video!
