NWR:Do you have cats?

Do they ever act INSANE during the day? I swear for like 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon the two youngest ones tear around the house like they are possessed.

I think if they were insane they would have eaten me already but who knows maybe they are just working up to it?

I have two cats (one boy and one girl) and YES, they have insane spurts throughout the day.  For the most part, they just lay around and relax, but out of nowhere they will chase each other and wrestle and make crazy noises!  It's so funny to watch.  My little girl kitty also does weird stuff when she's tired.  She has a toy that we call her "rat."  It's like a long, furry bendable thing and whenever she's tired, she finds it, carries it around and makes the strangest moaning noise I have ever heard.  She does it EVERY night when we turn the lights out to go to bed. She drops it off to us in our bed and then cuddles and goes to sleep.  Too cute!!

Yes they do. Ray has random outbursts where he'll stare at the ceiling, make a cute noise then dart down the hall.

I have two cats who are very lazy. LOL.  Every once in a while, Bo will get the urge to attack Sammy and they'll wrestle for a bit.  Bo is definitely the more random one - he'll go tearing across the living room for no reason. The moaning noise cats make when carrying something is made when a cat "kills" something and brings it back to his/her family (it's a natural instinct).   Found this online:  When a mother cat catches a mouse, her instincts tell her to bring it back to the nest for the family or just to keep it safe from other predators.  To a domestic cat, the people are her "family" and she will bring prey back for them.  She will often howl until someone praises her for her catch.

My cat "kills" her stuffed bunny or tiger daily and carries it around moaning at the top of her lungs. I know what she is doing but sometimes I will still go check to make sure everything is ok! :-)

Oh Yea - the mornings seem to be there time to run around like maniacs. Oh and the one likes to attack the peep hole on the door - I swear I need to record it for one of those video shows.

Oh yes, Obaby (the orange tabby boy) will do that moaning thing too. He has an orange toy that we call his baby.Right now they are all sleeping but earlier they were just being wild, jumping into the windows attacking each other. Crazy

Gato used to but very rarely (usually cat nip induced).  After Trevor leaves in the morning and 10PM everynight Leo gets possessed...you so much as breath and he takes off running around bc he is so spooked.

Yep, that's hunting and training time. Even my ancient (19 and 20) cats are more active then.  And the 14-yr old, who spends all day outdoors, kills his toy mousie every night around midnight after we're in bed, then carries it around doing the yowly moan until I tell him what a great cat he is - then he drops it on the foot of the bed and goes to sleep!
