My fellow November bride (*grin*) - what time are you starting your ceremony?  Are you doing pictures before/after outside?

Hi! As of right now we are having our ceremony at 5:30, which should take about 25-30 minutes and then the reception starts at 6:30 and it is about 10 min away. We figured this would give a little time for mingling right after ceremony and then travel time. I am wondering if I should move the ceremony to 5pm though and take family pictures between 5:30 and 6:30? We are seeing each other before the wedding to take all our pics and our bridal party pics but forgot to factor in the formal family pics. That is the bad thing about the time of year is that it will be dark out by about 6 so we have to do all our outside ones early. I know it will probably be chilly but I would like a few outside ones downtown by the fox or comerica park. I have a little fur stole to wear on top and there is so much fabric on the bottom I don't think my legs will be cold! ;-) Starting to wonder why a ball gown skirt seemed like such a good idea....aaarrrgh. Your wedding will be awesome, I LOVE frankenmuth!

Not to throw a wrench in your plans, but it's dark by 5pm in November (sunset is 5:09pm on average).  I've been trying to figure out the timing so we don't run out of sunlight.  Too stressful!! I should probably look into getting something to wear outside, huh?  I keep forgetting it's going to be cold in November!   LOL.  Fingers crossed for nice weather for both of us!  Where did you get your stole?

Yeah, I figured it might be earlier than 6. I was planning to start outside pics at either 2 or 2:30 so we should be done by 5 regardless of ceremony time. I would like to take a few outside downtown at night with all the Christmas lights but we will probably have the majority during the day. I forget how early it gets dark that time of year! I think my photog might come out about 1 or 1:30 for a few getting ready shots and then we will start the outside pics after that. I got my wrap made at the Wedding Shoppe by Michelle but there are a bunch online. Your wedding is a little earlier in the month though so hopefully it won't be too cold! :-)

Just saw your prior post now! I probably should have mentioned about our ceremony, ours is in a church and they ahve candles lining the isle so that's why I wasn't concerned about it being dark. If your's is in the atrium I think you should be fine with 4pm. The more I think about it I want to move mine up to 5 so we can do 1hr of family pics after. then just have cocktails start at 6. We want to participate in cocktail hour and mingle with guests so it is less to do after dinner.
