RECEPTION IN A RESTAURANT/BAR???

So far, reception site haven't really please either myself or my fiance. We are looking for a casual/formal space to hold approx 200+ people. We would like to hold the event in a restaurant/bar. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! I have no idea where to even start looking and thought someone may be able to send some idea our way.

What is your price range per person? Which areas are you looking to host your reception in?

I would look into Big Rock, Forte in Birmingham, and possibly Maggiano's.

I don't know what area you are looking for but Vinology in A2 seems to show up in a lot of Detroit area wedding magazine shoots.

I would start by asking the restaurants you are interested in. We were interested in holding our RD at Lilly's seafood in RO but they wanted $10,000 to close for the night (since our RD had 150 invited). This was out of the question for us.  Basically, the restaurants we talked to expected you to pay their sales goal for the evening regardless of what you ate or drank as a minimum. So it may not be a cheaper way to go, but it might get you the location that you want.

I think Andiamo's does receptions at a couple of their locations.

Andiamo's in Warren has a nice banquet facility that can accommodate up to 600 people and the food is great! The have an in house pastry chef that does wedding cakes also! HTH

I second Andiamo's.  My godbrother was married at the Warren one a few years ago (maybe 5) and it was very nice.  Even if you don't do the Warren one, there are other Andiamo locations that can support 200 ppl.
