Glad to hear your dad is doing well.  I've been only lurking lately (my year is up) but when I saw what else you posted about your dad's symptoms, I thought my two cents may be helpful...A couple years ago I was having chest pain along with numbness in my left arm and hand.  I was taken by ambulance to the ER and didn't suffer a heart attack but after a follow-up with my regular doctor they found two things...1.  (Via an eco cardiogram) Tricuspid regurgitation in my tricuspid valve.  (It's where blood leaks back where it shouldn't)This isn't too serious but can give some pain.  Some ppl later on have to get the valve replaced. 2. Acid reflux... and later I found out one of my co-worker's husband's has acid reflux and will get numbness in his arm and hand.  I've found watching what I eat and taking my medicine helps. HTH!

Sometime last year, Kevin called me from work saying he wasn't feeling well... he said he was having chest pains and his arm was feeling numb. So he left work and I went with him to the emergency room. Yea, it turns out it was acid reflux from the Greene's Burgers he had the day before for lunch lol. It's not really funny but after we found out it wasn't serious, I couldn't help but laugh. I told him that if he thought he was having a heart attack at 25, he really needs to change his eating habits.

I can get a little bit of chest pain sometimes, but honestly, I don't take my medicine daily like I should.  I take nexium and I heard that long time use can contribute to Osioporosis (sp?) especially in women later on down the road.  I try to take my medicine when I know I will eat something that won't agree with me. I'm not a doctor, but they will probably start with an eco.  My mother in law has a problem with her mitro valve and that can be more serious then the Tricuspid valve.  If your dad is diabetic, I'm sure the doctors are also considering that issue.  Glad the info helps.
