How to pick bridesmaids dresses?

I found a BM dress online that I LOVE(!!!!) but can't find a sample of it in any of the stores that carry that line. Should I just go with another dress?

It's up to you, I've seen a lot of dresses I've loved online but only to hate it in person. I would just move on and find another dress that I can see and try on in the stores.

I think I definitely have to agree with pp. My BM and I thought we had decided on a dress online and in person, when tried on, it looked awful. Can you contact the designer and see where a sample might be available?

I agree with PP, I found a Alfred Angelo dress online and when I saw it in the store it was ugly. I think its good if you could find a sample in store and see if it flatters all the girls in your party.

That happened with me as well.... the dress that I found was from a new line and barely any stores carried it. I actually went to look at wedding dresses & saw it in the window & insisted on trying it on! I was sold & since I knew what type of wedding dress I wanted, I decided on it right then & there. I've heard that some stores (if they are nice enough) will actually order the dress for you if you are 100% serious...

Does the store you are looking at have a return policy?  If so maybe you could order one and if you don't like it return it.  It's a hassle, and you might have to pay for the shipping, but if you really love it, it may be worth it.

thanks everyone for the suggestions. Luckily I found a store that carries it, they were closed yesterday when I called...so now we just have to look at it in person. Heaven help us if it isn't the one.

Are you by chance going to Antionio's Bridal in Bham? Just wondering because they were the only ones who had my bm dresses as well & are closed on Weds. :)
