I am on the verge of a breakdown...please help!

Ok...every website I look at when researching what flowers are available/in season in the Fall say dahlias and mums are the primary Fall flowers.  Well, my florist is saying she doesn't think she can get them!!  WTF flowers am I supposed to use???  I do not want an all rose bouquet...it's just not "me".  I want a fun, rustic/vintage-y feel...not hokey Fall (think lots of leaves and pumpkins).I want to cry.

How in heck can your florist NOT GET MUMS? They're everywhere!??!?!
  • edited December 2011
I wouldn't research which flowers are available. Research which flowers you LOVE...look for certain colors, styles, etc. Then send that list to your florist.

Emily, that's exactly what I said to my mom when I called her.  I was like "I'm not asking for anything tropical...they are freakin' MUMS!"Amanda, I did send her a big list...and I truly do like dahlias and mums (the big ones).  Everything I suggest is "out of season"...but I don't get HOW when they are listed as FALL FLOWERS ON EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE I LOOK AT.Ahhhh...the tears are so close.  Either that or a scream.

Are you using an "at home" florist? Because I'm sure that limits their availability. :(

Maybe call other florists and see what they say, just to get a second opinion. Maybe they'll be a little better at explaining some crazy flower secret that your florist didnt?I'll do some research (i'm so bored right now) and see what I find for wedding flowers. So sorry, I know  you didn't need to hear this 3 weeks before your wedding :(

That's BS, all of my flowers will be dahlias and mum..ohh some roses and hydrangea but 90%, dahlias and mums and I'm a late October bride. Who the hell is your florist?   Really, what is exactly in season in November anyways?

lol. they had A LOT of them too. Maybe that's why your florist can't get them. OLIVE GARDEN STOLE THEM ALL!
