Tea Party Themed Birdal Shower

Has anyone ever hosted or attended a tea party themed shower?  I need some creative decor and other brilliant theme ideas to make this event something special!  I'm finding it hard to tie everything together as the guest list includes around 60 people!  I feel like china tea cups are out, given the number of potential attendees.  I also plan on using a color pallet of all shades of pink, as my bff requested this! :-)  Any thoughts would be appreciated!!  Thanks!

For food, you could do breakfast-y things, like an egg dish, baked french toast, fruit salad, that kind of thing...  Or, small sandwiches would be cute too.

My mom (and my sister and I helped) host a tea party bridal shower in May and we did jars of tea as favors....

She bought around 3 dozens mini jam jars (from Meijer or Target or Walmart or whatever) that actually came with little label stickers to put on the front.

We bought oodles of dry tea mix, dry milk, sugar, etc. and made a HUGE concoction (sp?) then split it amongth the jars. (PM ME FOR ACTUAL RECIPE!)

On the labels she wrote "Nicole and Andrew" and their wedding date and on the top of the lids she wrote directions ("add 2 tsps to 8 oz of hot water, stir and enjoy!"). between the lid and the jar we added some green tulle to match their colors. VERY cute, IMO and I wasn't a fan of the idea in the first place until I saw the final product.

-- Other things include oodles of finger sandwiches, and teacup shaped cakes. Oh, and antique teapots as prizes!

I can't find it but there is a tutorial out there somewhere on how to make those tissue pom poms that are hanging and you attach them to a stick..or bamboo pole and you stick them in a pot...so they look almost like hydrangeas. You can add fake leaves to them too..or real ones.

My mom and sister threw me a tea party bridal shower yesterday.  They did salads and had tea pots with flowers as centerpieces/prizes.  While tea cups might be out, you might be able to do some fun stuff with different types of teas and tea cookies.

 i am throwing a tea party themed shower this weekend all the women are wearing hats i went antiqueing and garage saleing for cups and saucers each guest will take home there cup i am having mini sanwiches and pastries i have a candy bar and beverage station it is vintage themed i will try to post pictures after good luck!
