Dress Alterations...what should I do?

I bought my dress at Elizabeth's in Northville.  They scheduled my first fitting on September 3rd.  They then cancelled and changed it to September 17th.  The seamstress did not like my bra that I had bought.  They tried to sell me one of theirs but I did not like the fit.  The would not do any measuring or adjusting until I got a new bra. I went to Harp's right after the appointment and got fitted for a bra.   We rescheduled for tonight at 7:30pm.  I usually can't do Tuesdays but in desperation to get my fittings going I sacrificed some sleep and asked my boss if I could come in late.  They just cancelled my fitting again. They wanted to schedule it for a Tuesday and after making arrangements with my boss once there was no way I was going to ask again.  So now they scheduled me for Sunday October 2nd for my FIRST fitting.  This is just under three weeks before my wedding.  My question is...Should I go somewhere else?  My schedule is very tight with work.  I work M-R at night.  Elizabeth's only does alterations on certain days.  My schedule in October is so tight I feel like it is going to be a struggle for them to get it all done and work with my schedule of which they were aware of in the first place.  I don't know what to do.  Even FI is nervous.   Should I find somebody else to do my alterations or let them do it and hope they will get them done?  Am I being irrational?

With the history of cancellations they've made I'd go somewhere else, especially if you have a busy schedule.  Others have given great recommendations of where to go for alterations so I would call those locations and see what they have open time wise.

Yeah, I'd go elsewhere.  Repeated cancellations are not professional.

I'd go somewhere else.  Your dress is not something they should take lightly.

If you need some recommendations, PM and I'll send them your way!

I got my dress at Davids, but took it to Bella's Alternations. My first fitting went great and I'm going back this weekend for my second fitting. This place came highly recommended on this board.

I would not be cool with someone refusing to do alterations unless I bought their recommended bra. If they are really good with alterations they should be able to work with any undergarments. I am glad you found someone else to do your fittings though and I hope it all goes well.
