Wedding Music

What's your lineup for the important ceremony and reception music?

I love music so much and I'm going for non traditional

Pre Ceremony music will be all things by the Vitamin String Quartet

Bridal Party will walk down the aisle to "Clocks" By the Vitamin String Quartet (Originally by Coldplay)

I will walk down the Aisle to an instrumental version of "Sail Away" by The Styx.

Recessional Song- "Here Comes The Sun"-The Beatles

Our Entrance song-"I believe in a thing called love"-The Darkness
We have decided our first dance will be "Marry Me" by Train.
Daddy Daughter dance- "somewhere over the rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

Mother Son Dance- "All to You"-DJ Keo

We are not doing a garter or bouquet toss so we don't need music for that

There are many more still to decide.

Some of our choices are not 100% set just because we do still have 9 months, so we're open to the ossibility that new and better songs could come out between now and then. Also, we are probably using the same song for the whole ceremony, rather than one for the parents, one for bridesmaids, one for bride, etc. Our wedding party is small and we don't feel the need to try to cram a bunch of songs into so little time. So far we have...

Ceremony - Love Story (Taylor Swift) performed by Vitamin String Quartet.

Recessional - TBD. I really want 'Ever After' by Carrie Underwood, from the movie Enchanted. Working on convincing FI, haha. I think he'll come around.

First Dance -'Two is Better than One' - Boys Like Girls/Taylor Swift. We've seen Taylor together in concert, and on our first vacation ended up sitting right in front of the lead singer from Boys Like Girls!)

Father/Daughter - 'Cinderella' - Steven Curtis Chapman (me and my dad are the biggest Disney fans you've ever met)

Mother/Son - Possibly 'My Wish' - Rascal Flatts.

During our reception we will have a Beatles cover band playing (Toppermost, if anyone's seen them, they play in the area a lot). That is what FI really wanted. So I'm hoping that since he will have his Beatles band for nearly the whole reception he will come around to the recessional song I want. I think he probably will and just feels the need to tease me about it first, lol.

Also working on convincing him that when our guests are leaving as the reception ends, we should play the music that the Magic Kingdom plays after Wishes (their fireworks show) ends as you are leaving the park. We're going to Disney World for our honeymoon so I think it would be super cute. At first he was fine with the idea and is now worried about the cheesiness factor...we'll see.

I believe myself and OP are both planning on playing CDs or ipods for music during our ceremony. Not sure if the group Vitamin String Quartet is actually available to come and play your wedding personally, but I assume it would be very expensive!

They are a string quartet that covers popular songs. And just about any song sounds appropriate for a wedding when it's being played by a string quartet. You can check them out on youtube, just search for vitamin string quartet.
