So when do the No's start coming in?

Invites were mailed out last week Wednesday and starting on Saturday RSVPs have been coming in.  We invited 220 which maxes out the hall and so far we are 72 yes out of 74 and the 2 that are not coming are just plus ones.  It would be AWESOME if everyone we want to come do but I am starting to worry about the hall being a little to "cozy" and would feel better if we had 200 people show.  But don't worry I have budgeted for all 220 so no problem with cash.

I think its great that so many people want to celebrate with us but I hope I don't prove FI wrong by having a 0-10% decline rate.  He has been saying all along how we should invite more because we will probably have 20-30% or more decline.  I vetoed him though.

    I've heard that usually the No's wait to the last minute so there's still hope :)

    Thats what I heard too.  I am just amazed how many people have sent in their rsvp's already when the invites have only been out a week.

    Definitely let me know how this turns out!  I'll be in a similar situation: budgeted for/inviting about 230, but hoping only 200 come, since it'll be cozy at 230 (though, as you said, it's great that people want to come celebrate).

    I am in the same predicament! Our room holds 225, and we are inviting 225 (FI and my mom are trying to convince me to invite more, and I am holding my ground.)  The room will be pretty cramped at full capacity, so I am hoping for more like 200.  We aren't at the point of sending out invitations yet, but everyone I have talked to said they will come.  I guess we will wait and see...But I have heard that you should be getting some "no"s to roll in at the end of your RSVP deadline.

    That's great that people are already replying - more than anything, they're excited for you and don't want to forget so they sent out their RSVP asap lol ... and no's usually wait until the last minute unless they have a commitment that's more important or they are 100% positive they cannot come due to financial reasons or something. People may feel bad about sending a 'No' early and then something comes up where they can make it..

    Congrats though!!! Ahhhh I'm so excited to send out invites and that's not for another 6 months!

    in my experience, no's don't reply or wait to reply last minute.

    we only got two or three 'no's' back.  we had to call the rest.  AWKWARD.

    I was freaking out at first.  We invited 330 and in the first week, it was like 98 YES and 4 NO.  We ended up with 244 YES and 86 NO -- so they will start.  Promise.

    But YAY that you're so close!!!

    LOL, maybe.  I'm still freaking out a little.  And while I won't say it's an accident, this is definitely a surprise for us.  My emotions are still geared a little more towards the freaking out side.  DH is surprisingly calm so that's the only thing keeping me sane right now.

    Well hopefully you get some more plus one no's, I agree that the no people are usually last-minute responses. We invited 150 and it's hard because I have to know how many centerpieces we need and things like that, but I don't know yet how many people/tables we'll have.

    LOL, yup, I'm pregnant.  I announced it over there, but don't post regularly here so felt weird just AWing it.  But yeah, my chart's in my sig so not a huge secret -- around here anyway.  Waiting til later to tell people around us.

    There is still a few of us around that were here when you were posting regularly so you can AW if you want.  I wanted to tell everyone to go over to the nest when you did there. 

    I hope you can wrap your head around the idea sometime in the next 9 months, LOL!  Congrats again!
