dress shopping tomorrow...

well ladies,
Im doing what i've been dreading since we got engaged..
Dress shopping starts tomorrow. I have appointments all weekend.
Starting out in Waterford at A'doraBelle Bridal tomorrow
Saturday is at Bombshell Bridal in St. Clair Shores
and last but not least is David's Bridal in Madison Heights.
Im really emotional right now.

I just need to keep telling myself that dresses can be altered and that I CAN loose more weight.
I've lost 40 pounds so far, but it doesn't seem like enoguh!

Well wishes and tips would be greatly appreciated :)

I haven't been to A'doraBelle Bridal or Bombshell Bridal, so let us know how it goes!! I still haven't found my dress, so I'm looking for good shops.

Dress shopping was not as bad as I thought it would be. Remember that you will wear a larger size in a bridal gown than you do in real life (I'm not sure why they do that to us). It helps to have some idea of what you're looking for, if possible.

Don't pressure yourself to find THE dress. Just have fun and think of it, if nothing else, as a fun day and a chance to learn what kind of shapes and styles you like best!

Good luck!  If you have bad experiences tomorrow, wait a few days or so and go again.  I'm not familiar with the places you chose, but some carry more sizes than others.  I went to a shop in Ann Arbor with my sister and they had nothing that fit me, I'm a dress size 10 which surprised me.  It was very stressful and I totally had a mental breakdown, I didn't pick a dress because I couldn't tell how it would look on my body.  Then, I wen't to Becker's in Fowler and they had tons of dresses from I think size 0-32, which made it easier to try on and I could see what things would actually look like on my body.

They carry samples sizes 12 to 30...So atleast I know im going to one store that will carry my size.
Supposibly this place tomorow has some plus size samples, so we'll see!

There is a dress out there for everyone I promise you!  Just try to have fun and try on everything, even things that you think wouldn't look good...you just might surprise yourself.  Try to remember that your FI obviously loves you just the way you are!  And remember that a lot of us had to use the clamps since the dress wouldn't zip!  That's normal!

I actually visited Bombshell a few weeks ago. It was spur of the moment and because I think the cosultant knew I was looking for a dress at another store, she wasn't that friendly. Also, their  wasn't as big a selection as I was hoping for and the dresses went to the biggest I think a size 26 or 28. Still I still it's a great place to start.

My biggest advice is to order the dress as the size you currently are. I ordered a size down and did not end up losing as much weight as I planned on (hopefully it works out... I found out in a few hours when I pick up the dress!) They can bring in a dress four inches so that will give you plenty of room to continue to lose weight and just make alterations. There are some dreses out there that are incredibly flattering and you have no idea until you put them on - the opposite it also true so don't get discouraged if they all don't make you feel gorgeous.
