Location suggestions for Outdoor ceremony/reception?

We're planning an outdoor wedding and we want it to be beautiful and laid back because we're trying to cut as many costs as possible. Not sure what month yet but please offer some suggestions for me if you know of anything that sounds like it might fit what we're looking for!
We'd like indoor and outdoor options, for people to use restrooms, go inside if it get's to chilly/hot, weather issues, etc.
We'd like to have a pig roast and a bonfire, and set up games like horseshoes and a volleyball net, but a lot of places won't let you do this on their property, or even let you bring your own food, which we would also like to have half catered, half home made.
Needs electricty, needs a place we could set up a dance floor, or if there's already a patio or deck that would be ideal!
Not sure if we're having the ceremony outside/at the same site, but if we could find a location with a gazebo or something like that, that would be fantastic too.
Any thoughts ladies? I'd love to hear some suggestions. We're not sure yet what month we're getting married, it really depends on WHERE we're deciding on getting married and then we'll choose the date. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the board!  You should check out the sticky posts at the top of the board with vendor information.  There are a TON of ceremony and reception locations that are worth checking out.

    Congrats!

    Welcome!

The only place around here that I am personally familiar with is Beverly Hills Park. It's on Beverly Rd, which I think is 13 1/2 Mile, just west of Southfield Rd. My friend's son had his ceremony there a few years ago, and they have a fabulous pavilion, with a fireplace at one end. They don't have pics on their website, but you could do a drive by and see if it meets your needs. Info here on renting the pavilion: http://www.villagebeverlyhills.com/pavilion.htm

They also have restrooms, probably have electricity. Not sure about barbeque or pig roast or games, but because it's a city park and I'm sure they have a variety of events.

Our venue, Greenmead Village in Livonia, doesn't have a pavilion, but it has lovely grounds, a chapel & banquet facility that holds up to 100 each. If you wanted a larger tent, or the other stuff, you'd have to call them. Info and pics in my bio below under "vendors". Rental for both as a resident was $1000....... Not sure what they charge if you just want the park.

    Hope that helps.

Welcome to the board!  I'm having my ceremony and reception at Rivercrest in Rochester because we also wanted an outdoor ceremony and an indoor/outdoor reception.  The owner is great, will answer any questions you have quickly, and will work with your budget to come up with some alternatives if what he recommends doesn't work for you.

Update: We found the perfect spot!
We are booking with Concordia University's Earhart Manor in Ann Arbor. Absolutely beautiful location and offers inside and outside space. The Manor is beautiful, historic and unique with a fireplace in every room. The first floor is available to mingle, sit and chat, and have appetizers and cocktails. The bridal party gets ready upstairs and the boys get ready in the basement, which has a secret opening and is the coolest hang out spot in the whole place! A true man cave. The ceremony and dinner are outside on their grounds. We are so pleased to have found the perfect spot!
