Dear FMIL...

Why must you insist on leaving your house tomorrow at 5am? You'll get here at 9am and no one will be home until 3pm. Ohh yes, traffic, you don't want to hit that so how about you leave your house at 10am? That way you don't have to be alone in my house for 6 hours. Even better, leaving on Thursday at 8am or something!!

Thanks,
FDIL

P.S. Please leave your coffee pot at home. I like my one cup at a time coffee maker just fine and you never drink an entire pot anyways.

Ohh and thanks for making FI buy a $65 ham. That's pretty much our grocery bill for an entire week so you know what we'll be eating until Christmas!

    This just made my day!

I'm not having the same issues with my FMIL but we are having our disagreements right now. :) I can relate and do find it weird she WANTS to be at your house for 6 hours alone? Does she snoop???

I hope not. Last time she did this I came home early and surprised them. I just can't stand being at work when someone I don't live with is relaxing at my house.

If she snoops the only thing interesting she'll find is a closet with an unloaded shotgun and things that take batteries! Have fun with that!

I love my MIL but I know exactly what you mean. I think they all snoop. I make sure everything is out of sight.

She has access to your house for 6 hours. Wow.

I would just be uncomfortable knowing she was there all day too! Snooping or not. It just seems really odd that she'd want to do that?

I love that she might find things that "take batteries" lol.

I like my FMIL too, I just think this wedding stuff has brought out a lot in both of us. She's all about doing everything according to tradition and ettiquette. I do try to respect most of it, but I like to add my own interpretation and spin on things. Which I think offends her

Yeah, it's very uncomfortable and I have to come home and entertain her :(

She will have no say in anything we do with the wedding. I hate to say it but if you are helping with the bill, stay out of it! Our money, our wedding!

Wow - that would seriously bother me and I get along very well with my FMIL. Good luck!

Oh boy!  This made me giggle.

I always get a kick out of MIL stories.  My FI's parents both passed away a long time ago, so I don't have a FMIL to deal with.  Sometimes I think it's a bummer that they aren't around, but at the same time, there's never any FMIL drama AND he has the cutest grandma that raised him.  She's way too nice to ever have drama with, so that makes me happy.

Anyway, good luck with this!  Hide all the good stuff!!
