FlowerGirl dress is not the correct site - need advice to talk to the store

The mother of my flower girl called yesterday and said that the dress id to tight on her daughter. We went to the bridal store 2 months ago where they measure the girl, they checked the measurements against the chart and decided the size they shoud order. Now the dress does not fit and they blame a skinny little thing to have grew-up for the sides in 2 months. How come a 6 years old with no bust line can grew that much? I didn't know rib cages can expand that much in a shor period of time.
I will have to call the store today but I am not sure how to deal with them.
Any advice? Did someone have a similar problem?

i agree, seems like the measuring would be off.
it seems like a lot of shops will reorder a dress in the right size?- or am i wrong..?
i'd ask them to reorder in the correct size.

I had this happen where the store ordered the wrong size for me but my measurements hadn't changed so they had to get me a new one.  Not sure if it will be the same in your case but I would think that they shoud have let you know how much room you would have for alterations etc given that kids do grow quickly so you could try that angle?  Good luck!

I ordered the bridesmaid dress from the same store and all the dresses came in the large size so they all will have to make some alterations. The store sales people repeated so many times that you can let in but you can't take it out. The mother didn't ask to remeasured on the spot and didn't call me right away. I wish she had it. I will go there today and I will post an update.
    Thanks for the comments.

But is the dress the size that was ordered?  If it's the correct item that was ordered (which you agreed to), you may be out of luck.

Any time I have had to order a BM dress, or even my wedding dress, I had to ok the measurements and the size that was ordered.  So then if it didn't fit when it came in, it wasn't the stores fault because I ok'd it.

Now if it was the wrong dress entirely, then yes the store needs to reorder it in the correct (meaning what the original order said) size.

I don't remember ok'ing the paper. I basically let the store pick everything, I was under the assumption that they will know better than me. I would say we agree because we didn't say or questioned anything. The dress is the correct one.

I know I am out of luck. But I need to go talk to the store and see if they can help. My wedding is on August 28th and we do not have much time for re-ordering plus the parents are not willing to spend more money from what they already did.

if it doesn't fit, maybe you could go to jc penney or another department store and find a cute matching dress on sale.  Definitely a bummer, but hopefully you can figure something out.  Keep us updated!

Here the update of the Flower Girl dress. I went to the store on Friday as I didn't receive a call back. The manager was very nice and I also didn't walked there upset or yeling. So we got an appt for Tuesday so dress, little girl, Mother of-FG and bride all together. The measurements were off about an inch. They said she grew all that. And they had order the dress one size bigger based on the original measurements. Anyway, there were anout 4 inches inside the seam that can be let out. And they will do that in the store (they usually do not alter BM or FG dresses) for $25.00.
I think it was the best solution as re-order was out of question (time and money).
