Alteration prices?

Met with a seamstress today and got a quote of $230 for all of my alterations. Is this too much, too low or about right?

It depends on how much you are having done, but it sounds comparable to what everyone has told me they spent on alterations...I haven't gotten a quote for mine yet.

I paid $230 to have my dress shortened (from the waist), taken in at the bust, bra built in, a button bustle added, handmade veil and my mother's dress hemmed.

I agree - what's "all my alterations"?  I had my dress let out, hemmed, and bustle for $50.

I will be paying $150 or my dress to be hemmed only. I guess if your dress is lace, has a lot of layers or beading, the cost will be higher.

It includes the hemming, taking it in, tightening some beads on my dress, steaming the dress and veil and doing a bustle. So the standard alterations I guess. Just wondering if that seemed reasonable and what most people pay. Thanks for the feedback:)

Where did you get this done for $50?  I'm very interested. Thanks :)
