So I need honest opinions please... PIP

I started some DIY projects this weekend and I really wanted some church decorations and I didn't want to spend the money on additional flowers so I did some tissue paper pommaders. My colors are chocolate brown and burnt orange so I did brown balls with orange ribbon and I am planning to do orange balls with chocolate brown ribbon. I did one ball yesterday and I am not too happy with it maybe because I don't think flowers come in brown. You tell me what you think should I do all orange, mix the tissue paper so when I pull it apart the flowers the colors are mixed with brown and orange or nix the idea all together. I am so not crafty and this is not helping. Please help and I am ready for brutal honesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is kind of an odd color, but maybe if you added some more orange flowers mixed with the brown it will help it to pop some more.

I think it might be the colors. Check out this example with orange or yellow tissue paper. I think these work really well and provide a bit more depth to the pomander. http://ruffledblog.com/do-it-yourself-tissue-paper-pomanders/

You did a good job, but I agree with your assessment, it does seem a bit "off".

Maybe just do the orange ones with brown ribbon?

With your colors, it's difficult to do these without maybe adding a different color. Have you thought about maybe adding green, so they LOOK like flowers? Maybe make some leaves with green tissue paper, and add them intermittently between the flowers? Or use green tulle and make flowers?

    Good luck.

i think orange with brown ribbon would look really nice.  if youd like to add more brown maybe you can drape some ribbon coming down the sides of the pom poms like a whimsical looking.

I would keep the pomanders one color (don't mix brown and orange) and I really like Sue's idea of adding greenery to give them a little pop. I give you crazy props for being able to do this DIY project!!

I would suggest switching the colors so you have an orange pomander and brown ribbon.

Nothing more to add since my suggestion has already been made.  But I just wanted to tell you that you did a great job!  This is one DIY project that I didn't even want to attempt.  Good luck with your new ones!
