flowers

I'd like our centerpieces to be jumbo hydrangeas with different types of roses and a few button mums. Although hydrangeas are my favorite flower, I'm a little hesitant to use them, because sometimes they wilt fast. My florist is going to make a mock-up of the centerpiece, so I can see how it looks.

Anyone use hydrangeas in their centerpieces or bouquets? Did they last through the reception?

TIA :)

I had hydrangea's and roses in all of our flowers (my bouquet, my girls, alter arrangements and center pieces).

They lasted through the night, and well beyond that. We used our centerpieces and alter arrangements the next day for the brunch my IL's had, and I also sent people home with flowers. My bouquet lasted close to two weeks after the wedding. There's non-pro pictures of our flowers in my married bio.

ETA: I will say, my flowers were pretty wilted by the end of the night. However, I put my bouquet in some water at the hotel and they perked right back up by the next morning.

FSIL and FBIL used hydrangeas as their main flower (bouquets and half the centerpieces) and the bouquets were pretty wilted even before they got to the reception (it was an August wedding and no AC in the limo).

But as Gwen said, as soon as they put them in water, they were just fine.  I hae no idea how long they lasted after the wedding though.

The centerpieces should be fine since they have a water source. The bouquets may get wilted after a little while, just try to keep them in water when they aren't in your and your BM's hands. I wouldn't use hydrangea for boutonniers or corsages though.

My daughter used live hydrangeas for all their bouquets and they lasted fine...Viviano florists sent vases for each bouquet, and so they were in water on the head table after pixs.  We used silk hydrangeas for the centerpieces.  HTH

I think they just need to be in a water source.  I think as long as they are in water from when they are delivered to when you walk down the aisle and for pictures and then put right back in the vase, they will be OK.

    Hello!

I LOVE hydragenas! I did not have them as part of my bouquet, but I did have them as a major focus on all our CP's - they looked great throughout the night and next day. I would suggest maybe mixing Hydragenas and roses in your bouquet and whatever else you choose. :-)

    Good Luck!
