Grrr - Honeymoon Vibes needed

So unless you're living under a rock somewhere everyone knows that western Europe is stuck under the volcano ash cloud. Guess where we planned to go on our honeymoon in 2 weeks???

I need some vibes that it clears out and we don't have to scramble to book a trip someplace else and lose some money on car rental/etc.

No travel insurance - I like to live on the edge lol!

Julie - the airlines are allowing full refunds for any canceled flights. But really - what else could they do? We'd be out like $50 for canceling our rental car but all the hotels allow us to cancel 24hours ahead so we'd actually be ok money-wise.

However I will be incredibly disappointed if we have to cancel but I know there's absolutely nothing we can do except hope it stops erupting and the cloud dissapates.

Sigh. We have started planning a backup honeymoon.

Sue - I am glad that we're at least able to cancel and reschedule something and not stuck overseas. A day or two sounds nice but some people have been there a while now and that would really stink. They can't have packed an extra weeks worth of clothes, nevermind the expenses they must be incurring for hotels and food.

What's the saying, if we all piled our troubles together most people would gladly take their own back instead of someone else's.

Thanks - BTW I asked McVay about insurance and she pretty much confirmed I'm screwed. Turns out once a disaters hits people don't want to insure things. Odd.
