BM dresses

Finally decided on my BM dresses with a little less than 5 months to go.  But now I don't know if I should get taffeta or satin.  Any suggestions?

Do your bridesmaids have a preference?  Is there a price difference?  Personally I'm not a big fan of taffeta but it may be lighter in the summer months than satin.

I would do taffeta in the summer, but I'm biased....I picked taffeta.

I prefer satin but it depends on the style and what material your dress is.  I would stay with the same as your dress.

I prefer taffeta, but I'd go with what matches your dress best, or which is cheaper for your ladies

Thanks ladies.  My dress is actually taffeta.  I don't know what the dress is going to look like in satin because I have only seen it in taffeta.  The dresses are going to be black.  One of my bridesmaids said they didn't like the taffeta.  There isn't a price difference.  Here is a pic of the dress.

I think it's funny that we're not too helpful, since it seems about half of us prefer taffeta and about half prefer satin.  I guess it just shows how different everyone's tastes are...I like taffeta, but I am sure that at least one of my bridesmaids doesn't.  I'm in a wedding next December where we're wearing chiffon.  I'm not a huge fan of chiffon, especially in the winter, but it's not because it's ugly or anything...it's just not what I would choose.

I don't think you can make a bad decision here.  The taffeta would match your gown nicely, but if the satin would make your bridesmaids happier, I would probably go with it (that said, find out what all your bridesmaids like the best, not just one of them - who knows if the rest like the taffeta).

Since your dress is taffeta I'd go with that for the BMs.
