Name/FI's Name? Jen and Dan

What's your proposal story and when did it happen? Dan proposed on his birthday so I was completely surprised. He had been telling all week that I could be his birthday present and I thought he was kidding. After we got back from a normal dinner (with some birthday flair), I was sitting on his couch and he just got down in front of me and said "I think I know the perfect way for you to be my birthday present" then out came the ring. I was so surprised that I asked him if he was joking and he had to ask me again.
 
Favorite detail of the wedding so far? I love our linens and flowers and though it annoys me sometimes, I really do love that Dan is so involved. This has definitely been a joint planning effort.

What's been the most stressful part? I definitely think the distance between where we live and where the actual wedding is taking place. It's been very hard to plan everything from afar. Our moms have been incredible!

Will you do any DIY projects?  If yes, which ones? Nope I am not creative or have the time/patience for DIY.

How did you hear about TK message boards? I just randomly came across them when I first checked out the TK. Great find!

Do you remember what your first post was about? I have no idea. Is there a way to find out?

Why did you choose the most awesome date of May 21st? I really wanted to get married in May and wanted the extra day off, but did not want Memorial Day weekend. May 21st fit that perfectly and later realized that it was the date my parents were married. They are divorced, so it's become quite a haha in our family now.

How long do you plan on being in Michigan for before the wedding? We're leaving for Michigan on the Wednesday before the wedding. We'll arrive sometime in the later afternoon. So really, we'll have two days in Michigan before the big day.

Honeymoon plans? Antigua! I am so excited. We have to drive back to Charlotte the morning after the wedding and then fly out the next morning at 5am! ouch! After that 7 days of bliss!

Favorite wedding-themed movie? hmmm... good question. The wedding planner?

What are your wedding colors? Royal Blue and Silver

How many people are in the bridal party and what are their relationships to you and FI? We have 10 people-- All are our friends as well as my brother and his sister.

What was your all time favorite vacation? Wow... I loved going to London for my 21st birthday, but I think I'd have to say our weekend vacatio to ride the Virginia Creeper this past October. It was a gorgeous time in the mountains and we stayed at this amazing bed and breakfast.

What made you move out of Michigan?

What made you move out of Michigan? I need a big change when I graduated college so I took the job with Ford and requested Atlanta! It was definitely the best decision I ever made. Not only did I meet the love of my life after a transfer to Charlotte, but I really grew up and learned who I was/am. . 

Do you think you'll ever move back?  Or move to a different state? Yes! I definitely think we'll be moving back to Michigan. Both of our bosses have told us that our next step is to move back to Michigan and work in our General Office. Ford generally doesn't keep you in one spot for too long so who knows where we'll end up after our next adventure in Michigan.

What are some of your favorite TV shows? I LOVE TV. My favorites are Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Criminal Minds, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and How I Met Your Mother.

Do you have any pets? No:( Dan and I both travel way too much to have a pet so instead we volunteer at our local animal shelter and get to play with all kinds of puppies. I always want to take one home and tell Dan every time that I'll quit my job if I can take them home

Do you like to read? If so, what is a good book you've read? I Love to read. I just finished a Chelsea Handler book which was halarious! I haven't had much time to read lately, but my favorite book of all time is In Cold Blood.

What song will you use for your first dance? We're using " All or Nothing" by Theory of a Deadman. We are both very much rock fans and we first said I love you at their concert in Charlotte. We also saw them last year on our 1 year until our wedding day day. It's the perfect song for us.

What is one thing that you thought would be hard to do while planning that has actually been easy?  and what is one thing that you thought was going to be easy but has been difficult?

Sorry for the delay--- I was crazy busy yesterday!

What do you miss about living in Michigan? I definitely miss my family!
What don't you miss? I do not miss the dreary, sunless winters!
I ask everyone this one:  What can't you wait to do once the wedding is over with, not including the honeymoon? Spend an eveing just relaxing with Dan and not have something wedding or marriage related (like moving from two households to one.) Just relax in our first home!

What is one thing that you thought would be hard to do while planning that has actually been easy? I thought it would be to get Dan to be involved, but actually he's been very good about helpful. Somedays he's a little too helpful and some days wants nothing to do with it, but overall has been very involved. I don't feel like I am doing everything myself.

and what is one thing that you thought was going to be easy but has been difficult? Finding a Bridesmaid dress-- I knew I didn't want strapless and that was somewhat easy to find, but underestimated how badly my FI would want Royal Blue. I hated almost all the royal blue dresses I found and he would not budge from that color for everything. That was probably the most difficult part so far.
