Ladies, This Board...

I have done some nosing around other boards this weekend - the student board, my wedding month board... BUT - this board has the nicest girls!

So, thank you ladies for being so supportive of each other and never leaving a post unanswered!

I'm proud that I'm a MICHIGAN-DETROIT Bride!!

Welcome!  All the girls here are really nice and helpful. 

And the girls on the other boards aren't that bad once you lurk and get a feel for the board.  They are very blunt and will give you their honest opinion about your situation.  Do they go overboard sometimes?  Absolutely but if you dig through their sarcasm, they do give great advice.  Think of it this way, would you rather hear your idea is rude from a bunch of internet strangers, or from your own friends and family?

There's a board for everyone so hopefully you've found one that works for you!

Ditto Liz. The Det board is my favorite; probably because it's the most useful for me. But I love the girls on some of the other boards. I lurk on snarky when I'm having a bad day and need a laugh.

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you posted this because I recently was thinking the same thing!  I feel like I could actually be friends with the girls on this board, while on others I sometimes am appalled by what people say (even if it is sarcasm).  Everyone is wonderful here!!!  It's been so great chatting with everyone.

I love this board.  My month board has some good neighbors, too.  For the sarcastic know-it-alls, the way I see it is that you ask a question, and they are going to give you their opinion.  They're not going to tell you what you want to hear, and sometimes that is a good thing.  If you wanted that kind of an answer, you would have asked your friend instead.  Sometimes a bride needs a wake-up call, and those are just the girls to do it.

Nice compliment to the ladies here Chelsea! I think a lot of it comes from living in an area that is so hard to live in, it makes us nice, not nasty. The Michigan-Detroit area has to feel like "comfort food" when it comes to our neighbors, because we all work so hard just to maintain our well being in the economy.

My month board (8/2011) is nice, as is the "Second Bride" board, which I post on only because they are more *ahem* mature brides like me.........it's my first marriage, but my fiance's third, and they have a lot of ladies becoming "step parents" like me, and have dealt with a lot of similar issues to me.
