Lasik

Ladies I'm looking into getting Lasik and I was wondering if any of you have gotten Lasik?
Where did you get it done?
What doctor?
If you don't mind I would like to know how much it cost too.

Thanks

I got it done about 4 years ago now and I'm so glad I did!

I went to Lake Lazer Eye Center in Clinton Township (on Harper).  Dr. Khambati was great to work with and I completely trusted him through the entire process.  I even watched my mom have hers done before I did mine.  For me, my insurance paid for everything but I think it's typically just under $1000 an eye (for the all laser version called Intralase).  I know that sounds expensive but think of all the money you'll save not having to buy glasses/contacts.  If you want to know anything else please feel free to ask.

I had it done about 9 years ago.  I wear glasses sometimes still because I still have astigmatism.  Back then they couldn't guarantee the correction of astigmatism.  I see 20/25 though and that means I don't hae to wear my glasses just when my eyes get tired. Even with the outcome I would do it again but now the procedure has improved drastically for patients with astigmatism.

I went through henry ford optimeyes and I think I paid $1,800

I had Lasik done two years ago at Clark Lasik Eye Center in Brighton.  I paid about $1300/eye, but what you pay will depend on the kind of surgery you get and how complicated your case is.  I paid completely out of pocket, and found it worth it.  I was really happy there, and my aunt/uncle/cousins all went there too, which is how I picked them.

I was a pretty simple case (based on cornea thickness, etc.), but if I were complicated, I was going to go to U of M, even though they were more expensive.

People use the word "Lasik," which is what most people get, but if your cornea has irregularities or isn't thick enough, you may have to get Lasek or PRK, which are more expensive and take longer to recover from.

My FI just got his done in Dec in Troy at Laser Eye Ins. on Big Beaver by Dr. Hadad (sp?)  He's has great results so far and I know of about 3 others who went to the same Dr a few years ago and are very pleased.

He paid I think about $3k for both eyes.  He was able to finance it through them at 0%.

I got it done at the Lake Laser Eye Center with Dr Khambati too!!

If you live closer to Novi, he can do all the pre and post follow up appointments at his office there too.

    Best decision of my life!

I just got it in November at Yaldo Eye Institute in Farmington Hills, they have another office in Dearborn...

I can see 20/20 and it's the best decision i've ever made! I got it for $2500 for both eyes. Their are a few different kinds of surgeries, so you will have to go in to find out which one you need..i got the more evasive and more expensive one and it still wasn't that bad. It is the best thing in the world to not have to wear glasses or contacts!

I just had it done in January at Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor with Dr. Sugar. It is $2100 per eye, but all the followup care is included and they only do bladeless since it is the best technology. Very quick recovery, only took a day and a half off work. Surgery at 1pm on a Tuesday, went home and napped, woke up and could see! Went back the next day for a followup in the morning and was at work the next day. No dryness or halos and I can see 20/15 (better than 20/20). I highly recommend them!
