Receptions and Dinner

Does anyone know any reception sites within the Metro Detroit area that have oustanding food and dinner options?   We are looking for a site that holds about 250 people and are trying to narrow our search down.

    Welcome Missy214!

At the top of the board are some yellow pushpin permanent posts. Most of the local brides put up their vendor reviews and prices if they've already had their wedding, or just vendor info if they haven't had their wedding yet.

I'd start there. I'm only having 100 people, so can't help much.

Glad you came to the board. The ladies here are great!

Hi! Welcome to the board! There is a ton of good info here :) Give us an idea of your budget, preferred location, and the type of venue you are looking for. Excellent food and the ability to create a specialized menu was an absolute must for us and we have the a similar guest count. We booked the wyndgate country club in rochester hills.

One of my top choices was the Mabry Center in Warren, they can accomodate that number easily and their chef's cook for the Pistons and are the same chef's that cook on some of the Yachts going out of Jefferson Beach Marina, very up scale and yummy!

We are looking in Macomb or Oakland County (Wayne County is a possibility too).  Price is approximately $100 per plate including alcohol or less (but are open to any suggestions).  Most weddings I have been to the venue is gorgeous, but food is not that great so I was just seeing if anyone had a specific place that had both.

Ours is $125pp at the Wyndgate. I've also been to weddings at the Colony Club (Detroit) and the Royal Park (rochester hills). Food and venue is great at both too. I think all start around $75pp. The Lark and Cafe Cortina also have amazing food, but I think your guest count is too big for those places. I've heard good reviews about the Book Cadillac, but haven't been there myself.

The food and service at the Royal Park are phenomenal! We just had our food tasting there a couple of weeks ago. They wined and dined us... Janet Engelhardt is the woman to talk to if you want more information.
