birmingham rehearsal ideas?

Hi - i'm from out of town but I'm looking for a Birmingham, MI rehearsal dinner location with a fun atmosphere (read not stuffy!).  My guests are staying in the area, so I'd like to stay as close as possible so that I dont have to provide extra transportation.  Is there a fun mexican restaurant, or another brewery aside from big rock?

thanks so much!

When I think Mexican, El Nibble Nook comes to mind but that's kinda far away from Birmginham.

There's a great website you can use to look up restaurants in your proximity and see their ratings/reviews as well - www.urbanspoon.com

I wonder if D*ck O' Dows has a private room?  That may be a fun idea...  Other than that, I can only think of the more upscale options... :(

D*ck O'Dows is a really fun Irish Pub in downtown Birmingham. I believe they have a private room in the back, not sure how many it holds.

Max & Erma's is fun, has a bunch of old kitschy vintage stuff on the wall, moderately priced food. May not have a separate room

Salvatore Scallopini is Italian food. I've eaten at the one in Madison Hts, not the one in Birmingham. Also reasonably priced, good "not Olive Garden" food, a bit more authentic.

I can only comment on the above, since I've familiar with them. Birmingham is a pretty upscale area, most of the restaurants are more expensive and in your word, "stuffy".
