CD vs Violinist for ceremony

So I thought I wanted to go simple and just use a CD for the ceremony music but I am starting to wonder if using a Violinist would be better. I can't seem to find a good version of the wedding march but I heard one on youtube by a violoist that I really liked. Any suggestions on CDs or Violinists or which one I should use. I am looking to spend under $200 for a violoist. Thank you in advance!

I prefer a CD just because it doesn't leave room for error or interpretation - you know exactly what it is going to sound like. But I get people liking live music, I'm just the type who would way rather hear the original on a CD than someone doing it live who is not the original artist. Although apparantely I don't feel too strong about my point of view since I have a tribute band playing the reception, but that's FI's thing.

Really it justs depends on which is more important to you - live music or knowing in advance exactly how it will sound. And of course a CD will cost less.

I 100% recommend a violinist. We were just going to use the organist at our church, but after seeing a violinist at a bridal show, I couldn't believe how much of a difference it made. It was so beautiful and almost brought  me to tears!

I used Kimberly Becker, she was absolutely fantastic!

Check with your church before you decide. Ours doesn't allow pre-recorded music (but I think that's usually only with Catholic churches).

This is a MAJOR thing for me right now. I have sent emails to all the live musicians recommended by the Knotties, and I can't find any under $200 (wanted a flute and violin for 1 hr).

I'm going to send an email to the local HS band director, my son played in the band, hopefully I can get a couple of really great musicians at an inexpensive price.

In the alternative, I have a CD, "A day to Remember", that I got at Hobby Lobby a year ago when wedding stuff was half off. Has all the songs I want except Trumpet Voluntary, which means I just have to choose a different song for myself.

If your church allows CD music, check this website: www.myweddingmusic.com. Great choices for "all inclusive" CDs.

    Yanina Nagorny, (419) 882-594

Yanina is a music teacher and works out of Toledo, OH. I am pretty sure she will travel.  I don't know how much a violin soloist is, but the duo is $250.
