I'm never buying from a ford dealership ever (vent)

Today I got a phone call and the car that I put a down payment on and was going to buy on Thursday apparently was sold (with a deposit down) before I even looked at the car and the guy picked it up today.  Now I have to call and cancel the loan I have, and cancel the insurance policy I just purchased last night for "my" new car.  I'm so frustrated right now since I need a new car with mine sucking and I have no idea where to even begin since I don't think I can get a deal like that again.... ugh.

    And what the heck are they doing about your downpayment?!

    The first problem I had was with Dorian Ford and the one I just about bought the car through was Ed Schmid.  The dealership claims they will shred the check and I cancelled the payment through my bank just in case they don't and try to screw me over more.

    Wow I am so sorry. That is such a terrible way to do business!! Good thinking on cancelling your check, who knows what else they would have tried to get away with!

    I will say, my FI works for a Lincoln dealership (service though) and FI's uncle works for Bill Brown Ford so it sucks to hear you got screwed by two Ford dealerships!! His family and mine are huge Ford freaks and I actually work for a company that sub-contracts work from Ford.

    Good luck on finding a car and just remember, this probably happened for a reason! If they are this shady selling cars, who knows what might have been wrong with the car!!

    So sorry about this, I know you were very excited to get a new car. 

    I am scared for the next time that I get a car because I have bought all 3 of mine at Roy O'brien using the same sales lady and I think she has retired now.

    And it was a Ford dealer on top of that!!! We are a Ford family...we always go through Russ Miline though, they currently take care of my mercury if I need any service. (helps that FI used to work there).  But my dad has bought a few cars from them in the past and never had a problem.

    Your sales person is probably the issue there.  Yes, this probably did happen for a reason.  there is a better deal out there for you, I know it's hard to see the silver lining but it's there somewhere.

    I"m so sorry to hear that!!! I know how it is to be screwed by dealers!! They are very sneaky!

    I work for Volkswagen and Audi corporate in finance. We have some great cars in our lineup! We have free maintenance for 3 years on all new cars. Not trying to sell you, but we have great cars and some good deals. I can give you a certificate for my friends and family deal, and Fox Volkswagen in Rochester Hills caters to any of our friends and family that goes there.     So sorry to hear that! I did have an awful experience at Dorian Ford. I also had a bad experience at Dean Sellers in Troy, but had an awesome experience at Hines Park Lincoln Mercury. Even though it was a bit of a drive, I had great experience and great service. I hope you find your new car soon!

    I'm sorry you are having all these issues with cars!! Like PP's said, it's your salesperson that you were working through that screwed you over.  You'll find another car you want soon!

    I don't know what side of town you're on but my family has been going through Pat Miliken Ford on Telegraph in Redford for years and years. Salesman Mark Z. is great, sold me my used Focus seven years ago and I'll probably be talking to him soon about a Fiesta.
