Official Intro... & 500th post!

Good morning everyone! Happy St. Patrick's Day (and Happy Birthday to my FI, Dan!! - Everyone in the world likes to party on his birthday! lol)

Sooooo I've been lurking/stalking/posting/addicted to TK and now that I've reached 500 posts I feel like it's my time to make my official introduction. (I apologize in advance for the length)

I'm Stephanie (or you can call me Milsey), and my FI is Dan. We met in the summer of 2008 working at a summer camp down the street from my house (after I had pneumonia and was sent home from another summer camp) and didn't talk much after the summer. In October/early November we started talking even though I was away at school and after the fall semester I came home planning to enlist in the Army. After a few dates, Dan was persistant about dating but I rejected him (I was planning on being gone 4 year!) Although, I gave in to his wonderful sense of humor and big heart andwe started dating January 22, 2009 and I shipped out to boot camp on March 17, 2009 (his birthday, ouch!). I ended up breaking my back (yuck) but was sooo thankful to return home to my family and friends that love me. [:

In May 2010 Dan told me he had a surprise for me so we got in the car and I assumed he meant a restaurant (we're big eaters/like to try new things). I closed my eyes and when I opened them we were standing in front of a jewelry store and he told me to pick one! He had done his homework and had already looked into rings and printed them out and handed them to a store associate so she could pull a few for me to try on. I defintely cried... and was not expecting to. This was not the proposal, though...

On August 6 I had slept at Dan's house because the following day we were going to celebrate my August 3rd birthday and his mom's August 13th birthday with his family... when I woke up, he was there with chocolate chip pancakes made from scratch, (and eggs and toast on another plate that fell to the floor when I rolled over), and orange juice in a wine glass. He was singing "I Want to Grow Old With You" (from The Wedding Singer) but changed the words to fit us... and once he finished he got on one knee and you know the rest...

We are now happily planning our 11-11-11 wedding <3<3<3

Thanks for reading, ladies! You have all been so helpful during the planning process. Have a wonderful day [:

    Thanks everyone!
& shesheduke - yeeeaaahhh, when I broke my back I couldn't function for a few weeks and didn't talk to anyone/see anyone(including Dan) because I was depressed about my discharged, in pain because of my back, and two of my Grandparents had passed away in less than a month. I still have problems every now and then (like a pinched nerve last August) but I'm busting my butt to get stronger and looking forward to running The Detroit Free Free HALF Marathon in October!

Great engagement/proposal story, and so glad you introduced yourself.

I hope your back stays well, and I can't wait to hear more about your wedding plans.
