MOB dress same color as BM dresses?? Give me your opinion please :)

My bridesmaid dresses are black.  What color dress should my mom wear?  Should she also wear black or should she wear a dark gray color?  Please give me your thoughts.  Thanks :)

Do you want them to match? MOB/FMIL dresses don't have to match the BMs. I wouldn't make them wear grey unless they wanted to. That can be a harsh color in pictures. My mom and FMIL picked out dresses in colors they like; I just asked that the colors not clash with the wedding colors. My moms dress is wine and FMILs dress is celadon.

I think a dark gray would be beautiful!  I love that color.  But, the MOB can wear whatever color, as long as it doesn't clash.  In this case, bright orange might not go so well, you know?  But a dark red, green, black, gray, purple,  navy... almost anything would work.  Let your mom wear a color she likes, what looks good on her! : )

My BM's are wearing royal blue and my mom got a dress that is a dark slate blue so she's still in the blue family, but not their exact color. She was looking for a navy blue dress.

My FMIL is wearing an ivory/goldish dress. I'm not crazy about it, but she really likes and feels comfortable. That is enough for me. :) I want her to be happy.

I would let her wear whatever she wants.  No one's going to mistake her for a member of the WP.  If she found a dress that she feels beautiful in, that's what's most important.

I went shopping with my mom and let her pick out whatever color she wants.  My BM's are also wearing black and so is my mom.  It was the best dress we found!

My feelings are a lot of people are going to be wearing black at my wedding that aren't in the bridal party, it's a pretty popular color, so I don't care.

As long as they don't clash I don't think it matters what color she wears, just make sure she picks something she loves and feels comfortable in.  The only real issue I've ever seen with a MOB dress was when the BMs wore a tan color strapless, floor length ball gown, and the MOB wore a tan spaghetti strap floor length ball gown.  It was not at all age appropriate in my opinion (not true of all that fit that description but hers was not) and it looked like she was trying to be a bridesmaid.  I think black or drak gray would look great though, or even a color.

I think you let the moms pick out their own dresses/colors.  They will know the colors of your wedding, so let them pick accordingly.

My BM were black, with green accents.  My MIL wore an ivory colored dress and my mom wore cocoa.  Honestly, with black...any color will be fine.

MY BM will be wearing silver dresses.... possibly with some sort of white or ivory sash or accent. So I want my mom to wear something that's possibly two-tone. Such as a two piece gown with the top/jacket white and the skirt silver.

As people said as long as it doesnt clash- let her pick out a color she feels best in.  My mom knew excatly what color would look good on her (I mean she's been dressing herself for a long time).

My BMs are in cobalt blue and MOB is wearing lilac purple and MOG is wearing a dark purple.
