DIY Flowers

Can anyone give me some pointers on DIY flowers?? I have reluctantly decided to take on the task of centerpieces....something I may regret, but really know absolutly nothing about flowers! We are using galvinized metal vases for them and the plan (as of now at least) is to buy a bunch of potted flowers at a nursery and re-pot them in my vases. I was orginally thinking I would do mainly mums since it is a fall wedding and they are a very popular fall flower.  Does this sound like something that would be doable??? How long can I do something like this ahead of time?? Also, for non potted flowers, how long do those last?

That definitely sounds doable.  When you go to the nursery ask about repotting them and how to do it best.  As for the rest of your questions, it all depends on the exact flower you are using and how hardy they are.  For example, hydrangeas need to be in water as much as possible.  Ask the nursery before you buy any of the flowers and they should be able to answer any of your questions.

I plan on doing my flowers myself, as well, and actually intend on ordering my flowers from the COSTCO website.  They sell in bulk and have great prices so it might be worth looking into.
