I am looking for people who know about the MotorCity Casino in Detroit.  I am looking to have my reception there, but I don't know much about it.  They were able to work with my budget and offer me a pretty good deal, but I have never been there except for a tour.  Does anyone know about the actual venue, hotel, food, etc???

    I worked an event at Motor City and they really did a great job.  I can't speak to the food since I wasn't included for dinner.

    I will let you know that for someone who has never been there it can be very overwhemling trying to find the banquet rooms.

    Ok, that is good to know.  So if we have it there, I will keep in mind to have it marked well.  It is hard since we currently live in California and planning a wedding in Michigan.  Every little piece of info. definitely helps!

    I think it was confusing for most people because they have the casino and hotel side.  You need to go  into the casino, down the stairs, across the hall, etc.  They have signs to the ballroom but I'm the type of person that doesn't like it when I don't know where I'm going.  I get really nervous about going somewhere new and looking stupid.  I know it's dumb...

    ive never been to a party there, but have been to the casino a few times. My FI and I used to live not far from there... there were a few times that we went to dinner there and then to the casino. Their food is really good!

    Something you might want to think about (I don't know if it's important to you or not) is the clientle at that casino.  There are some pretty shady/creepy people there.  Moreso than at MGM Grand.  We went there a few times to gamble, and were so off put by the people wandering around (read: we felt unsafe), that we've stopped going there all together.  If we go downtown it's to MGM now.

    The clientale is important, but I know they have big events there too.  I checked out the MGM casino but it was too pricey for what I was looking to spend.  I loved it though.  The problem is I am originally from Clarkston and the groom is from Detroit.  We are having the ceremony in Clarkston, but I wanted to bring Detroit into it.  My fiance lives and dies by the city.  I know there are some rough areas however they are definitely trying to revive the city.
    Anyways, I know I will have a lot of out of town guests so I thought the casino would be something fun for them to do as well as the clubs in the hotel.
