Chair Dilemna! Need Your Opinion!

Ok so I am very torn about my chair situation. The issue is I really dislike chair covers. Like I would really be forcing myself to go that route. So I shopped around to price renting a Chiavari chair. Right now it looks like the best I can do is $3.50pp for a chair cover and sash, table linen and satin colored napkin OR $5.00pp for a chivari chair, linen and napkin. I thought that was it for my options but now another idea has been thrown in the mix. My mom has just suggested keeping the banquet chairs Pine Knob provides. She says they are nice enough to use for a wedding so we can save $ since we are so torn. But I kinda disagree- I thought its pretty much the standard to rent either a chair cover or specialty chair for a wedding. But if you girls think I can get away with it I just might want to save the $. So you tell me. Here are a few pics of thier chairs...

My linens will be an Ivory or Champagne color with a dark brown or purple colored napkin.  If I did Chiavaris I would do a dark brown, gold or mahogany and if I did chair covers I would do an ivory with an ivory sash (just to keep it simple and clean). These banquet chairs actually would work with those colors I selected if I went this route too. Ahhhh I'm just so confused!!! Everything in me wants the Chiavaris soooo bad. But its hard for me to justify the extra $300, especially to the fiance. So what would you do? I need everyone's opinions!
Thanks!

I love the look of Chaivaris, I got them for mine, but I think I paid around $7-$8 per chair.  Totally worth it for me, but I am not a chair cover person either.  $300 isn't that much at all, in the whole scheme of a wedding.  Again, all my opinion.

Maybe I'm biased because we are using the standard chairs but I say don't bother with anything. But it depends - it was one of those things that I knew made no difference to me, however it is important to some people. If you don't like the look of the plain chairs get fancy ones.

Hmmm...well, I would keep those chairs because they work with your color scheme....If I could get those babies down the street to the mansion, I'd keep them in lieu of paying for chairs or covers. I think most people order chairs/covers because the chairs offered by the venue are ugly...like the black and burgundy chairs at the mansion :op Hehehe...save your money, your pics will still be beautiful :)) If you think you will regret not having chiavari chairs, then I would do it. If the cost diff is only $300....I would find a way to have them if they are that important to you and if you can afford it....why not!

Those chairs are really nice! Way better than the forest green (since I have a light blue color scheme) You could always stick with those since they match your colors, but I completly understand the chair thing. I am the other way I had to have chair covers and that was very important to me (top of the list). So if the the Chiavaris are important go for it! Don't force yourself into something you don't want!

Just use the chairs they provide. They go with your colors and aren't all that bad. They are better than cahir covers IMO, I hate chair covers.

Wow, I love those chairs! Nicer than the ones I get at my venue. Plus, they match your color scheme, which to me would be a great plus.

Like the prior posters said, I guess it depends on what's important to you. It's not "standard" to rent chairs or chair covers, IMO it's something the wedding industry wants you to think is standard.

If it were me, I'd use the extra $300 for something else that the guests or you would appreciate, ie for some sweets or appetizers or liquor.

Or save it for massages on your honeymoon.

I think those chairs are cute. Then again I hate chair covers, you slide off the chair. I think if you have great looking chairs, no need to cover them. Use the money for something else.

We could just swap chairs the night of the wedding and then you would REALLY have an excuse to get chivari chairs! Tongue out I've heard a lot of people say that chivari chairs are uncomfortable so given that you have nice looking chairs, stick with them and save the money. Sink the extra cash into another upgrade for your wedding.

I think those chairs would work fine with your color scheme. I don't like chair covers either... we are renting gold chiavari chairs. I wish that we could have saved the money!

$600 towards Hawaii fun is a much better use of that money! No one will think back on your wedding and remember the chairs - but you & FI will always remember your honeymoon.
