seating arrangement

Just wanted to share how we did our seating arrangement for 260 guests, because I think it was fairly easy.

As the reply cards came in the mail, we wrote guests names on small post-its  (the tab ones), stuck them to the back of the card, and filed cards alphabetically. We used purple for single guests and orange for couples.

Next we drew the floor plan on a large poster board. We then went to town, placing the posti-its on the poster. It was so easy to rearrange as we went. When we were finished we went through and wrote the table number of each guest on alaphabetical list that we've been keeping. Now we are ready to print the excort cards.

There may be an easier way that I am not aware of, but this worked great, since I am a very visual person.

This was LEAST favorite project of the entire planning process. I am so glad it's over!

That sounds like a pretty simple way to do it.  Did you put any particular family members together?  How much mixing of your family and his did you do?

oh that is a great idea!  thanks for sharing.  It was worse than making the guest list?!?!?  ugh... not looking forward to it, but your advice will make it less painful!

We are doing s sweetheart table, so we have our immediate family at the two tables right in front of us, and our bridal party at the other two closest tables. Then we basically have all our first cousins at one table, aunts and uncles at another, great aunts and uncles, friends, etc.. We didn't mix our families at tables, but we scattered the tables so that it is not all my family on side of the hall and his on another. They are mixed.

I did the same thing for my Daughters wedding-   It was super easy to just move people around if need be.
