Hair & Makeup

I have 8 girls who need hair done the day of the wedding and 5 who do make-up.  My hairstylist is coming to our house and has confirmed she can do 5 girls' hair.  So I need someone who can do 3 hairstyles and 5 makeups.  I looked through the vendor sticky thread and contacted those vendors, but they really aren't what I am looking for.  Basically, I am looking for someone who works independently and is willing to come to my house the morning of.  Does anyone have any friends or family who would possibly be interested?

Julie, I'd highly recommend Aleksandra Adams for make-up. She is just phenomenal. I know she can't help out with hair, but if you haven't contacted her yet I'd definitely give her a try!

The problem is I need someone who can do hair AND make-up.  I don't want to have 2 more people -- I would like someone who can do both.

I honestly think your best bet would just be to call around to salons.
 
I know you said you wanted an independent but you would probably have the best luck with a salon.

Yeah, I know.  Right now I'm kind of just hoping that someone knows someone who has experience and would be interested in making a little extra $$.

I think I would be pretty shocked if you could find one person to do 3 girls hair and 5 girls make up. That's a lot of work! Sounds like you need at least two people.

Deux Adore that several of us have used is a sisters team - one does hair, one does make-up.  So technically it would be two people, but since they work together, maybe they'd give you a good deal for so many services.  Worth a shot!

Julie, I might know a girl that went to PCEP with us.  I know she does hair, and from what I've seen it seems pretty good...I'm not sure if she does make-up, but I asked her on FB.  I'll let you know what I hear.

Well, I recently went through and deleted about 300 people who I knew in high school and college but are stupid and I don't care about them.  So I'm sure we had more in common.  I am very selective about my FB friends.

Well I feel very honored.  I did the same thing about a year ago.  I wiped out about 50-75 high school friends.  I also currently have about 20 h.s. people sitting my "friend request" queue.  I'm not going to accept their request, but I won't click ignore either

Uh, yeah, I realized that.  I unfriended a bunch of people and then they requested to be my friend again so I rejected it.  And then they started requesting AGAIN.  Seriously, get the hint.  So I stopped rejecting and they sit in my queue because then they can't request again since it says "Friend Request Pending."

Honestly, it was when I got engaged that I did this.  It started out with me unfriending exes -- which was very hard because of course I wanted to stay friends with them for the point of stalking.  But they thought of them seeing my wedding pictures and stuff just made me feel really weird.  Then that led to me unfriending people who I didn't really like and didn't want them to be able to see all that stuff.

Yeah, I had the same problem with people just continually requesting to be friends.  Most of whom, I don't even talk to anymore IRL.  Made me think they were stalkers.

There are a few people I don't like but am still friends with on FB.  But, I put them all on a crazy limited profile, and I did that so I could continue to see what they were posting on FB...that and I still talk to them in person so I didn't want to deal with a bunch of butthurt phone calls.

My friend Kristi does hair and I believe she does makeup too...She worked in a salon before but now just does hair on the side to make extra $$.  I think that she said it was $50 for updo's....
