Sorella's?

My fiancee and I really want to book Sorella's. We had our cake tasting there yesterday and I have had their cakes before and loved them, plus they have sooo many options of what we can do which I love cause I like to think outside the box and wallet a little bit.

One option we are considering is their faux (fake) cake which is a little over $100 cheaper than the real cake. Has anybody used them for that? How real does a faux cake look and if you have used one at Sorella's or elsewhere, were you happy with it?

The other option I like is having a sweat heart cake just for cutting and pictures and then having mini individual cakes for all of the guests which isn't much more expensive than the faux cake. Which option do you girls like best? Just need some feedback. Thanks!

I used Sorella's for our cake. We chose the cupcake option because it was alot cheaper than an actual cake and neither DH or I are a fan of cake. I, personally don't like the idea of a fake cake. There's other ways around it. Unless you want a huge cake on display, there are other options. You can have them make a cake that will feed half of your guests and then purchase sheet cakes from Costco or Sam's. This was the route we were going to go until I decided I liked the cupcakes. No one will notice the difference of the cake. It's actually quite shocking that a fake cake is $100 cheaper than a real one. The reason why it's still expensive is because most of the cost goes into the decorating. Foam or cake, it still needs to be decorated.

On a side note, I loved Sorella's. The cupcakes we had were amazingly delicious and we got nothing but compliments on them. I cannot remember for the life of me what we chose for the flavors and fillings, but we were very happy with them. I highly recommend them.

Thanks for the input! The fake cake is less expensive there because at Sorella's now they only let you choose from four different designs with them because people were coming in and wanting a lot of specifics and designs on the faux cake and with the cost of designing it, they were about as much as the real cakes so like I said now they just offer four simple designs for them, but you can mix and match them to add to the design a little. Still not sure what we want to do yet, but they do have many options that we like and offer a lot of different ideas to the traditional cake. I was just curious, having never seen a faux cake, how real they look and how people liked it. I'm glad that you recommend them and liked what they did for your wedding! That makes me feel more confident going with them:)
