no more DIA weddings?

I was researching the Detroit Institute of Arts for wedding receptions and they say they no longer offer them?  Any one know why?  I never booked there because they wanted $10,000 just to step foot in the room (excluded food or drinks), but I'm a bit shocked they shut down wedding ceremonies and receptions.  It says they will still do rehearsal dinners and showers though.

    Wow!!!  That was my dream venue for my wedding reception, but like you I ran once I heard the room rental fee alone was 10K.  I remember hearing that they were having financial troubles, and thought to myself, if they lower that room fee they could book more weddings and create more income.........

    It was my dream venue too, but I can't justify paying $10,000 for nothing.  If it had included food that would have been different.  If they had lowered the price, I'm sure they would not be in financial trouble. :)
