Wedding Review 9/4/10 Wedding

Hi Ladies,

I'm from the CT board, but had 2 NY vendors and wanted to share my review.

We had the ceremony at our church and the reception at The Waterview.

The Waterview Monroe, CT (Reception)  A+
One of THE BEST decisions we made.  They were professional from the time we booked straight through the end our day.  We had a day wedding and the view was amazing.  Our guest were able to go out during cocktail hour, enjoy the view and take pictures.  We had 75 degree weather on Labor Day Weekend and we truly enjoyed the daytime aspect.  I revamped their menu  and cocktail choices and they were soooo accommodationg.  All of my guests raved about their food and service.  Waterview Brides:  Make sure you go through every menu item with your planner and specify how you would like it made...they will work with you.   They placed our table numbers, menus, and monogrammed napkins before hand and helped the florist set-up.

Big Apple Entertainment - Larchmont, NY (Entertainment) A+
Eric was our MC and was accompanied by a DJ.  He was professional, funny, easy to work with and we had a variety of music to cater to the different age groups.  We did the anniversary dance instead of the bouquet toss which was a nice treat for the longest married couple.  We gave away the centerpieces to one person on each table by placing something under their chair.  Eric was great to work with and made our vision come true. It was an afternoon reception (12:00-5:00) and the energy was amazing!!  Love them!

Munroe Photography - also out of New York (Photographer)
Rob was amazing!  He had me do some of the most interesting poses and I can't wait to see the pics.  He has a photojournalistic style (which I looove) and catches things when not everyone is looking.  I've seen his work before through a friend and can't wait to see our pics.

Both my photographer and videographer were family friends.  I have not seen the video yet.  But I almost did  not get a videographer.  For those of you that are contemplating whether or not to get one, I highly recommend you do.  There are definitely things you would not have captured on pictures alone.  My florist was incredible!!! I had tall centerpieces.  I purchased the vases at Michael's and I ordered my flowers at Costco (white roses, greens, calla lillies) and she ordered additional roses in bulk for me elsewhere.  She did an incredible job and if you want me to give you a contact number...just email me.  It save my floral costs in ONE THIRD.

So, ladies again..it was an absolute pleasure.  I may lurk a few times here on in...but if you have any questions about my vendors...or the planning process...feel free to email me at domilus22@yahoo.com

Piece of advice:  It will all be worth it at the end.  People will notice the detail. 2)  You and your hubby should agree not to let anyone or anything upset you that day.  You have worked too hard to plan your weddings to have a "bad moment" or an "upset picture" because of something that will not even matter after that day. Have a friend/lady in waiting/Day of Coordinator to deal with the minor stuff and ask that you are not brought in the loop.   Enjoy every minute it of it...it's yours.....
