Venue choices

Just wanted to check in to see if I'm crazy or not...I've been having lots and lots of trouble picking a venue. I've seen 11 (so far), all of them in the city of Boston, and haven't loved anything quite yet. I don't necessarily want to settle on a place that I don't feel fantastic about, yet I don't have time (or the energy) to see 42,000 places.Anyone else run up against this problem, or is it just me? Feel free to tell me I'm nutso, I feel that way a bit these days.(And I want to thank all of you for a million ideas/vendors/pics/etc over the two months I've been semi-lurking on this board. They are much appreciated.)

You are NOT insane. I have been to about 13 or 14 places and am not crazy about anything. Its either WAY too expensive or just boring. I have no idea what I'm going to do.

I think we looked at about 10-15 venues.  It's tough!  We know we didn't want a hotel, but my parents insisted on seeing a few anyway, so we went along with that too.  It took us about 2 months to finally sign the deal!

Your not nuts I think this is more normal than anything. I ran into the same problem. It took me two months before I saw a place and had that "wow" factor. I agree with Mckridings that it was either to expensive or just blah. Keep looking though...you WILL find what you want soon enough. GL!! I went through the same thing, I ended up just choosing one because I was so sick of looking at different places. But I'm glad I did because Blackrock in hingham couldn't have been a better choice. Everything was phenomenal there.

We visited 6 sites before we made our final decision.  Which venues have you already given the boot?

Our list...Liberty HotelSeaport HotelRenaissance WaterfrontCopley MarriottVeroniqueCambridge Multicultural Arts CenterRoyal SonestaHotel MarloweHyatt RegencyMuseum of ScienceColonnadeCharles HotelTop two choices right now are probably the Liberty and Seaport. (Note: the wedding is in December of 2010, which is the reason for all indoor venues, and mostly ones where we can have a ceremony and reception at the same location.) We've liked a lot, especially a lot of features of certain places, but nothing has called out "I'm the one!"
