Poll: What do you do

Beantown Mama's post got me thinking about what everyone does with their day. Are you a stay at home mom? Do you work? Go to school? What do you do for work?I work 8-5 for a disability insurance company as an underwriting specialist. Starting tonight, I also work 2 days as an aide for an elderly woman with pancreatic cancer.

I'm a full-time graphic designer for a corporate training company and I do some freelance on the side.I'm really hoping to leave the company soon, but the market is crap right now. I just have to smile and deal with it for now. We've got bills up the wall!

Hmm....what do I do.  My full-time job is case manager/life skills trainer for survivors of traumatic brain injuries.  Right now my caseload is light, hence the time on The Knot! I also work part-time as a rep for Lia Sophia Jewelry and Votre Vu French Skin Care.  I am hoping to add "attorney" to my resume in November!  ALways, given my background, I am planning on a career based heavily in disability law.....when I am admitted, you should send me some business :)

I work 9:30-5:30 Tuesday-Saturday at a country club in Norwalk, CT doing event planning. Often times I work much later on nights when we have an event/things go awry.It is really stressful work but VERY VERY fun. I would not trade all the long hours for the world :)

For now, I work for Partners Healthcare, M-F 8:00 - 4:30 in the Medical Staff Office at my hospital. We credential all the doctors on staff here, and make sure all of their licensing / paperwork is up to date. I attend lots of meetings, query information about new Malpractice Claims, and take minutes for the Ethics and Complex Care Committee here.I'm supposed to take the LSATS next month, but am going through a crisis because I'm unsure if I want to go to school now for Healthcare Law, or to become an R.N.!!!! (Either way, I'm staying in Healthcare.)

Everyone's jobs are so interesting and make mine look pretty boring!  I am a corporate attorney for a health insurance company in RI.  The pay isn't as good as a law firm - but I guess the trade off is that my hours are 8-4:30 (most days!)

I work tentatively M-F 8-5 but usually I end up being on call and working on whatever needs to get done until at least 10 and I usually do some work on the weekends depending on the urgency.  I have yet to not work a weekend.  I manage a research consortium out of UCLA - a lot of outreach, a lot of grant writing, conference planning, research coordinating.  I will probably spend more time at UCLA once my office is ready and people aren't caught having sex in it (umm. yea. stupid undergrads - thank god there is a lock on it) but now I work from home when my boss is away which is a lot and if I don't need to go in for any special reason.

I work 8:30 - 5 weekdays for a fragrance company. I handle layout/graphics for packaging marketing and sales materials. I'm working on building an online portfolio of art I've done independently, toying with the idea of opening an Etsy shop...It's a lot of work!

I'm a managing consultant for a large consulting firm, and I specialize in project and program management.  My job changes based on my project, so currently, I am managing a team remotely and working from home, spending most of my time on the phone with my team or my clients.  I have been on previous projects where I am traveling M-Th every week, which can be exhausting!  Although working at home can be awesome, I am looking forward to getting on the road again!

Beantown mama, You are so luck you get to spend time with your little cutie. I had always hoped to be a stay at home mom when I was ready to have kids, but it doesn't look like it will work out for me  :)  You'll have to do some extra finger painting for me!!

I work as a biologist for a small pharmaceutical company--so I am mostly in the lab running experiments on new drugs. I'm hoping to go back to school next fall (2010) to get my Master's in Architecture from the BAC.  I also volunteer with the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston and am the Charity Events Coordinator for the Massachusetts Biotech Softball League.FI and my mom think I should start my own party planning/wedding coordinating/charity events coordinating business though.  Can't be too creative working in a lab.  :P

I am a certified prosthetist-orthotist. I make custom braces and limbs for patients who either come to the office, or who I go see as in-patients. It's full-time, and usually fairly demanding.
