9/19/09 Wedding Review Part II

Some more...Band: Radiance www.wilsonstevens.com AI wish I could give the band an A+ because that is how I felt their performance was, but the contact with them was a little shaky leading up to the wedding.  They wanted us to fill out a form on their website for our music selection, etc, but it didn’t have the detail we were looking for so we ended up writing them up a detailed email explaining the flow of the reception and song choices.  We got an email back from them saying that they were good to go.  I guess I was expecting a meeting or a call to go through everything, but I think they do this so much that they know what they are doing.  Aside from all that on the day of the wedding they were fantastic.  They played all of our must haves and even let me cousin sing with the band (family tradition).  I couldn’t be happier with their performance – dance floor was never empty even during dinner.  Flowers: www.weddingflowersbyannette.com Revere, MA A-Annette works out of her house in Revere and is therefore a bit lower in cost than other florists we looked at.  I had a good idea of what I wanted for bouquets and centerpieces and they came out pretty much like I wanted.  I was very pleased with the flowers, but a few flowers on my bouquet were slightly wilted when I got it – not too noticeable, but I saw them and I hope the photos don’t pick up on it.  Annette is really good about working within budgets and has great ideas.  Hair: Jodie Berry A+My regular hair dresser from Dellaria’s in Lexington came to my house with another woman and they did the hair of myself and my 5 bridesmaids.  They did an awesome job on each lady and Jodie made my hair look just like the picture I had given her.  The ladies were fun to chat with while we were getting our hair done too! Makeup: www.facesbyjessicap.com A+I worked with Jessica for my makeup and she did a wonderful job.  She did my makeup, my moms and all the bridesmaids.  Everyone looked really natural but even more beautiful than they already do!  The makeup lasted well throughout the night and looked great in pictures.  Limo: Black Tie Limo A+We used Black Tie for bridal party transportation to the wedding as well as transportation to and from the airport for our honeymoon.  On all these occasions, the vehicles were beautiful and clean and the drivers were very friendly and timely.  I think they might be a little more than some other local limo companies, but I felt they were worth it.  Shuttle Transportation: Buckingham Bus Company A+We got this recommendation from a friend who used them at his wedding last year.  We had 1 large 54 person coach bus and 1 medium sized shuttle that held 30 to transport our guests from the hotel to the reception and back.  For the amount of time we had the buses and the size of the buses, I believe it was a good deal.  They were easy to work with and we had no issues with directions or timing.  Reception Lighting: High Output - A++++++Disclaimer: My brother works at High Output and did the lighting for free.I am not sure how often they do lighting there because they mostly do larger events, but he was able to put up some awesome lights they really brought the room to life.  He did pin spotting on all the centerpieces, textured lighting on the dance floor ceiling, spotlighting on the band and uplighting around the room.  I am not sure how much this would have cost – but I thought it was amazing and I can’t thank my brother enough! Hotel: Wyndham Andover Boston -  AWe had a room block of about 20 rooms and I think we ended up with 38 rooms in our block.  I didn’t hear of anyon
