Renaissance Hotel in Boston?

Is anyone else getting married there or ever been to a wedding there?  It's a pretty new hotel, so I was hoping to get some feedback on it.  thanks!

Over by the convention center??  I stayed there in September.  Rooms were nice, and the service was top-notch.

My parents went to a wedding there over the summer and really liked it. They said the food was good and it is a nice hotel to stay in. I have eaten at the restaurant there and also think that is a beautiful hotel. Good luck!

I was actually their first wedding on 6/21/08!  It was amazing!  The service was wonderful...we are still hearing from our guests what great food we had and how the whole wedding was just amazing!  The space is great too.  We had our ceremony in the larger rooms, which had a wall up and then the reception was in the Atlantic ballroom, with the beautiful windows and view of Boston!  I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!  It's also great b/c there is a lot to do around there and also very easy to get to.  ICA, Children's Museum...great restaurants too!We also came back for our 1st anniversary and they put us back in the Presidential Suite for the night and brought us wine and cheese before dinner and then dessert wine and chocolate covered strawberries afterwards.

Terrible customer service. I am getting married there next summer, and it was just the best space and we really liked the ballroom. However, they have TERRIBLE customer service. I live in NYC and am planning long-distance, so it makes things harder for me, so you might not have all the same problems. Recently, I had to wait more than a month to get in to see the room (just to look at it). I emailed in the beginning of Sept to come in on a weekend with my florist for her site visit and they said the only time I could come in was 10/10 between 2-3pm. I mean, that is really insane. And no the staff was not even meeting me- they literally don't allow you into the room ever. They do not do a lot of weddings, and they do not have a wedding coordinator. They have "event planners", and every step of the way they let you know that their corporate clients are their priority. They do not seek out weddings at all. They will not cater to your needs in any way. Think very carefully before you choose this venue.

My friend just got married at the Renaissance this past summer and the wedding was fantastic!  The food was awesome, I thought the service was great, gorgeous view, and everyone at my table loved it.  I just got married in August down the cape (where my husband is from) and my friend and I chatted frequently about our plans and she never indicated that her hotel contact was anything less than helpful.  I'd suggest to the last bride to call your hotel contact and see what's up!
