Rave/Rant/help: Intimacy

Sorry it's long, but thanks for reading!

Let me start off by saying, I am a big girl on top.  Although I am tall, I am still considered to be overweight and my family trait as given me some very endowed gifts to carry around.  That being said, it is difficult for me to find a good, supportive, and comfortable strapless undergarment to support me.

I heard about this store in Coply Place through a vendor and was willing to give them a shot.  The consultant I had was fantastic - she treated me well, she didn't make me uncomfortable, fitted me in some great styles and picked out more for me to try on at my leisure, she was extremely helpful with questions - all in all a great experience!

I left the store having, in my mind, purchased four items and requested one to be shipped from another store to try on (specifically for my wedding dress).  Two of the purchased items I walked away with, the other two I had to order to get the color/size I needed.  It is OVER two weeks since my visit to the store, and I only received one item in the mail, and the other two are MIA.  I had emailed my consultant and she let me know that they were shipping the undergarment I needed to try on from their Houston store - but it's been over two weeks!  How long does it take to ship a corset to Boston form Houston?!  As for my other item, I have decided to wait until I can get into the store in person to ask them what happend and figure out what communication was missed and where.

My problem is, my first dress fitting is tomorrow!  I've already pushed it back to give them time to get the article into the store so I could see if it would even work - and now I don't even know!  I don't want to start altering my dress to a bra that I won't be wearing!

Has anyone had any experience with Intimacy?  Did you have any issue with ordering or shipping any merchandise?

I would wear a bra that is similar to the one you'll be wearing, just to get the girls in the right position persay.  Tell your seamstress your bra hasn't come in yet and that you'd like her to work on another part of the dress (like a hem).  Hopefully you have other things that need alterating, and that can kind of push off any bodice work until you get the bra in.

Good Luck.  I've been wanting to check out Intimacy because I have the same "blessings" as you haha.  Sorry their shipping is slow though :/

i am also well stacked :) I have bought form them before but never dealt with shipping...I do plan on buying my corset from there too
as said above, i would just wear a bra and tell seamstress to focus on the hem for this fitting
    good luck!!

I brough my corset and some items for the honeymoon from Intimacy - they were great. One thong I ordered had to be sent from another store and it did take several weeks. That's too bad that your fitting is coming up - can you reschedule? When your big on top having the right bra makes a huge difference so you may want to wait (if time allows) until the bra arrives. I LOVE intimacy and can't wait to go back after the wedding to buy some everyday items. Now that I have a bra tha fits me I really do feel like a new woman :)
For anyone that hasn't gone they have a ton of size options I'm an unpopular size  (32DD) and they have tons of instock styles for me to select from.

    UPDATE:

    Thanks, ladies, for the help.

As it turns out, a few hours after I posted this, my consultant called me to tell me the garment had finally arrived that afternoon.  I went in with the dress that night to try it on with the dress to make sure everything worked.  The consultant was so great, she even brought out other styles that they didn't have previously, just so I could see several options.  We ended up picking something that they didn't have before, so the wait turned out to be worth it!

As for the one missing item in the mail, apparently the color that I had requested is no longer available, and she wasn't aware of that at the time I ordered it.  Thankfully, they had not charged me yet for the piece.

I should also point out that I did have a great experience there - and the pieces I walked away with are fantastic.  But lessons learn:  plan early, and if you can bring your dress with you to try on your undergarments, I would!  We found so many of the styles could be seen/came up too high, etc.  I'm lucky to have found one to work great in my dress just in time before my first fitting.
