Hey ladies! My FI and I came up with the theme "No Ordinary Love," because what we have truly isn't ordinary!
I am trying to think of ways to incorporate this throughout the wedding. Obviously, we want everything to be fairly unique and not "ordinary". Any ideas to share ladies??
We met when through MySpace. I had a serious boyfriend when he hit me up! So, of course I instantly deleted his message. A few weeks later, the day after I lost my childhood best friend, I received another message from him. I reluctantly opened it. (I had called my boyfriend the night before crying and looking for a shoulder, and he said "wow, thats too bad, sorry to hear that, got to go, my friend is on the other line," In the message, Mike wrote a simple and sweet messages stating that he realized I deleted his original message and that he seen from my profile I had a boyfriend, but i seemed like a cool girl, and he wanted to be friends and be there for me, through this unexplainably difficult time. (He had seen my myspace status about my friend's death). To make the rest of this long story short, we started talking ONLY through messages on myspace and formed a great friendship. Meanwhile, my relationship ( which was rocky even before his first message) got even worse. I broke up with my boyfriend that January, and Mike was by my side, still never making a move. In March, when I lost my uncle suddenly, he rushed to my side, and we have been together ever since! Our love is "no ordinary love" in many ways. We are STILL in a long distance relationship ( I am in MA and he is in CT), despite being engaged, we are both happy with just hanging out at home together rather than going on dates, in fact, we have never been on an actual "date". While I am very traditional, he definitely isn't. We have very little in common, yet find so much to talk about. He is black and I am white. He is 6'5" and I am 5'1". Our love is the exact definition of opposites attract.
We both LOVE sports. I am a basketball girl and he is a football guy! UNFORTUNATELY, he loves all the NY teams, except we have a mutual love for the Pats! We also love politics, animals, children and nature! I have a huge sweet tooth and he doesn't like sweet foods, except for brownies.
We plan on having a small church ceremony, a few weeks before our actual wedding, and then have a vow ceremony on the actual day of the wedding. It will be in late September, so we aren't sure if we want to risk an putdoor ceremony!
Any ideas, for flowers, colors (one has to be red we both love it), decor, venue for ceremony and reception, and anything else? Thanks ladies!
