Have to second Lisa Rigby - our photos are amazing. We're even getting published in the Knot Magazine next year.

A PP mentioned Eric Laurits who is amazing - but expensive - I think he starts around $10k?

We have the same wedding date!

Our first choice (John Loconte) was already booked when I started looking 2 months ago. We ended up finding someone we really love, but obiously they are booked for your date ;) I highly recommend you check out Symbol Photography. I absolutely fell in love with their photos but they were just outside of our budged (though they have a great package for yours!). I still look at their site/blog all the time. So pretty!

ETA: I just checked their site and they are open for your day. They have a schedule right on their page, how cool is that? If only all vendors did that...

Try Shane Godfrey Photography. He was recommended to me by another photographer in Boston and we met with him and he's very reasonable. We are probably going with someone else just because we upped our budget a little but Shane seems to know what he's doing! Also there's Jim Canole, William Tangorra, Derby Studios, and Adriano Batti. All on the web, all fantastic!!!!
"I got married in 1968 and EVERYONE only had 1 photographer, I don't know where all this nonsense came from. Who wants two flashes popping all night anyway? and really as long as they get you dancing, kissing, and throwing the bouquet the rest is just fluff." - My mom

I second Leah Haydock, she's awesome!

Don't worry, you'll find someone!  There are TONS of photographers out there.  It is tough since the ones most recommended obviously book up first.  Good luck!

Also, you probably realize this, but for Sat weddings in peak season (which Sept is now) you should start early for all your vendors!  Especially hair and make-up, I feel like they book even sooner!!!

Just a head's up - I am also getting married on 9/17/10 and John LoConte (who I loved) was already booked. Scott Metzger also booked shortly after we met with him (this was back in April).
