Honeymoon to Greece

We are currently planning our honeymoon to Greece.  We are going May 23 to June 2ish and would love some recommendations on places to stay in Santorini (we are going to Mykonos too, but have already decided on the Mykonos Grand).  Also, when should we think about booking flights?  Did any of you use a travel agent? (NOT Hellenic Holidays.  I am sure they would do a fantastic job, but FI and I got a bad impression).

Thanks!

We are going to Greece for our Sept 2010 honeymoon. Why did you get a bad impression of Hellenic? We are using them this is why I am concerned. We are staying that the Andronis Suites in Santorini.

I am using a travel agent for our honeymoon to Bora Bora. We are leaving the day after you! I have loved working with Mary. Even if I email her at midnight she gets back to me within a half hour. She was great with my FI who is one of those people who ask a million questions. We booked the hotels and transfers, but she advised us not to book our flight yet because she was waiting for a good special. She even got us breakfast and dinner included with our hotel which doesnt happen in bora bora. They dont do all inclusives. Im not good at getting myself deals and for an expensive honeymoon it was well worth it working with her. Hope that helps

He just seemed to want to sell us on how great he was.  Not really what we were looking for.  I was disappointed because I had heard such great things about them.  I am sure you will have no issues!  Sorry to worry you!

Being a travel agent, I would say book the flights to Europe asap.  Unlike Southeast Asia, Europe rarely has flight specials, and you're traveling during high season which means they'll only book up and become more expensive as you get closer. Also BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE!  I cannot stress that enough...it's amazing the horror stories I've dealt with that would have been made 1000% easier with insurance. HTH!
