Ceremony Location Near Lowell/Andover Area - BUDGET Friendly! Own Pastor - Help!

Hi Friends!

My wedding reception is Sat. July 9th in Lowell, MA -- only problem is WE CANNOT FIND A RECEPTION SITE!!!

We are non-denominational christians (protestant) and are finding that many churches require you to be a member of their sect and/or the cost is over $1,000 to use their space for an hour! On top of that, they want us to use their minister, not the one I love!

Can anyone recommend an AFFORDABLE wedding site in the Lowell / Andover / Methuen / Tewksbury area (Rt. 133)??

ZOMG!11!! Can you imagine a church wants you to use THEIR priest AND pay them MONEY???

Sorry but this post is just bizarre. How did you book a reception site without first securing the most important part of the day... you know, the part where you exchange vows? Also, to run a church costs a lot of money. $1000 goes to lighting, heating, AC, cleanup and the priest's time. I never understand why people think it is ok to spend 10-40k on a reception site but 10% (or less!) of that is too much to give a church?

No idea how mucht the rental fee is but H's cousin was married at the Methuen Music Hall and the space for the ceremony was gorgeous- they also brought in their own clergy (rabbi).

There's an Elks Hall in Chelmsford.  Salvatores in Lawrence, Diburros in Haverhill, Michaels Function Hall in Haverhill are a few that come to mind.
