wedding announcements in the paper?

Ok- its really not my thing at all but my mom really wants to put an announcement in the paper. She held off when we got engaged last summer but wants to do one now. Our wedding is in July. Should she do it them or sooner?

    If you wait until after your wedding, you can include a photo from the wedding.  That's always nice.

    My Mom is the same way we took engagement photos just so she would have a nice picture to put in the paper. My Finace didn't want his picture in the paper but he begrudgingly agreed to do it. (I didn't mind having a bunch of nice pictures of the two of us either.)

    I did mine after so it would have a picture.  Some newspapers have time limits (2 weeks from wedding date for full story and up to 2 months after for blurb with photo)... so just in with the particular paper and see how they do it.

    We did an engagement photo and my mom still wants to do a wedding pic, but it's been almost a year.
